Edit Feb 23, 2016
Hey folks,
Chicago Skirmish Wargames is celebrating 6 years and we are open to new adult members! Most of us don't play 40k anymore (though we have several of 40k armies), but rather we tend to play a variety of games that allow any brand of miniatures to be used with a bias toward games that are fairly easy to learn and resolve in 90 minutes or so. Recently, some games that have gotten play have included:

-Song of Blades and Heroes (28mm fantasy skirmsh, Ganesha Games)
-Necromunda A periodic campaign with installments every couple of months.
-Kings of War
-In The Emperor's Name
-Alpha Strike
-Mech Attack
-Warpath 1.0

and others...

Though most gamers will already have appropriate painted miniatures (we only use painted figs) for the games we most often play, it is not necessary to have your own figs in order to game with us. We want to make it as easy as possible to try new games so we always have enough miniatures prepared to provide for those who don't. We also have a very deep collection of very good terrain, much of which can be seen in our currently dormant blog which is linked a few posts down.

We meet every other Thursday evening in member's homes in Chicago or bordering towns and every couple of months we will have a game at Games Plus in Mt. Prospect. The general vibe of the club is laid back and welcoming. Games are well fought, but we value great looking gaming and friendly people more than cuthroat competition and WAAC-style players.

It's been a few months, so Bump!

We're still here, and still going strong, but always looking for new members. Just finished off a Song of Blades and Heroes campaign and a trial run of the new 28mm skirmish game 5150 Star Army.

You can see two of our recent games at one of our member's blogs here:

Time for the Tri-Annual Bump!
Chicago Skirmish Wargames is still going strong. In additon to the games in the first post, we've recently enjoyed Tomorrow's War, In The Emperor's Name and Warpath.

We also have a dedicated club Blog now:

EDIT: 2-23-16. Blog is currently inactive, but still a great way to get a feel for the kind of gaming we enjoy.

Haven't bumped this in a few years.
We're still here and still open to new members, be they regulars or occasional guests. The club blog and yahoo group are currently innactive, though the blog link above is a great way to see what kind of gaming we do.

We've moved to a forum for discussion and planning of club game days.
http://www.chicagoskirmishwargames.com/forum/index.php

Recently we've been playing In The Emperor's Name (40k universe fast-play skirmish) Alpha Strike Kings of War and others. This week we're trying Dragon Rampant.

We only play with painted minis (and we have great terrain!), but we always have plenty of figs to to share with those who don't have minis for whatever game we happen to be playing.
