Hey, I need some help/advice with my upcoming 40k projects....

Firstly, Heavy Weapons teams.....
I think there is a way to use all (or most) of the weapons in the IG Heavy Weapons team box, there is 15 of them right?
Morter and either LC or AC are sorted, but that leaves the LC/AC, Heavy bolter and ML....

So, ML could just be held by standing up Cadians?
And then an idea for the other two, would be either use Sandbags, or the agis defence line (if the single piece fits on the base), and have a guy laying down holding the gun, would that work? (this would be just using a box of Cadians along with the Heavy weapons teams) Or is there an easier/better way?

Pinning!!!
What do i need kit wise (in UK as well, so although helpful some people may be suggesting buying an American product etc.....), i think its probably a good idea to try and pin some of my bigger models!! And have never tried it before. And magnets.....what would i need to use magnets.

What to do with the Swarmlord!!!
Basically, after i have tried my first Diorama (hopefully starting next week, it will simply be a small base, with a Road, a piece of citys of death terrain, with a Rhino and a squad of Death company doing something, may think about adding something else, maybe not even using the Death Company) and become more confidant with my modeling and painting skills (want to try and reposition some of the Marines? hopefully it will work....).
I have just bought the boneswords from Paulson games, planning to make a Swarmlord, but don't play Nids....So i thought i could try and add that into a display, but what would look better, him having a stand off with another model (like a Deamon Prince, or Wraithlord, or something more directly from his fluff?), maybe backed up by a squad (or even just a small Nid diorama, without any opposition....), or just keep him on his own (but i don't think i will ever play Nids.)

Oh and also: (not very important but....)
IG Camo tank patterns, (like the examples on GW site, boxes etc) do you paint them like the guide on GW http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?catId=cat440173a&pageMode=multi&categoryId=400032§ion=&pIndex=2&aId=2400009&start=3 (the Cadian one, on page three) or Is their an easier way....

And lastly, does anyone know of any model Trains that would fit 40k scale, and fit Guard? (for another Diorama idea )

Thanks a lot

Shameless bump
(but its on second page, and probably not going to get a reply, and even One would be a huge help!!)

I'm having second thoughts about using Death Company for my first diorama, i just don't know what the would really be doing, A dev squad setting up might work better maybe.....

I dont blame you tbh, I know he feeling.

I can only answer the first two, basically for pinning all you need it a modelling drill and a paper clip, snip off a length of paper clip and drill fairly deep into the bits you want pin, then glue in one piece of the paper clip into one hole, then the other, simplez! Very handy, I am yet to have a limb break on a pinned mini.

Now to the HW, the easiest thing to do imo, is have a seperate guy holding the ML, this will be ok for friendly games, but it wont stand up in tournaments. Now for the HB, LC, and AC. Magnets are the way to go, I am no expert myself as I rarely use them, but you put a small but powerful magnet into a crevice where the gun meets the tripod, you then glue a small piece of metal to the tripod, and hey prestro! Strong, easily swappable weapons.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I want to actually have all 15 guns on a base, not the option to swap, although that could be useful later on.

Again any other help on any of my questions would be great

Do you mean 15 separate weapons teams out of one box?
This can be done with extra bases (or cut plastic to make bases) and some extra infantry models.

Or do you mean each base has 5 different weapons on it?
That would be confusing as heck.

15 diffrent bases.....I want all 3 of each type of weapon to be on its own bases.

And i know i need more bases, its just how to make the model look better, as there is only 3 tri-pods?

There are all sorts of things you can do with the heavy weapon teams using the HW box and standard Cadian models. You can have guys carrying the weapons, firing them from standing or crouched, having them balanced on all sorts of things from the ground to other Cadians Let your imagination go wild. Its also useful to wander through Google and come up with realistic poses or small viginettes. The HW base is large enough to do quite a lot with.

A couple of my HW teams as example:
