Hey guys, have a quick one for you: what would you recommend to "build up" a base? I am making a set of dungeon tiles (40mm square plastic) and adding a lot of texture and details to them. I have some green-stuff, but it would surely be a waste to use expensive GS as filler (lots of bases to do).

On the note of cheap 40mm bases, what would you recommend? Paying GW-premium prices is not the solution, though I do enjoy the thickness of those bases. I need dozens of the rotten little fellas. Even it it's not a "wargames base" and is just a pile of plastic tiles, that may work. On that note I will check the local dollar store for ideas... when in doubt, check the dollar store.

This is one option I found while searching, have no experience with them though...

Given you want dungeon tiles, you may have solved your own problem - cut lots of 40mm squares of thick plasticard (2mm would be good), then increase their thickness by gluing smaller uneven 'flagstones' of plasticard (with lots of chips and cracks gouged into them via scalpel and files) on top.

Dungeon-tiles was the easiest way to say it. The goal is to make easy tile-style terrain with a "Ghouls and Ghosts" inspired look.

Well MDF is used to base heavy terrain pieces so it should be more than enough for dungeon tiles.
