Hello,

Recently, Paypal decided that my account has some unusual activity on it for some odd reason.

Now, I wouldn't have a huge problem if it weren't for the fact that I just ordered models I need in 2 weeks, and now I don't believe they will come.

They claim that it will take within 30 days to fix, but from what I've seen, that is just responding to their emails.

Has this happened to anyone? How did you resolve it?

They want Photo ID, Utility Bills, etc... A huge waste of time since I have noone else accessing my account.

Sometimes this is a rare random gut check on accounts...and often without warning or reason. That means "Hey, lets throw a dart at a board and see if this account is legit" kinda thing.

More often, they will do things like this if something isn't right with your account (cross referencing any personal information that may be wrong).

Overt actions include doing things on the behalf of complaints from other customers or the government. But that is more serious and should have reprecussions with other aspects of your life if the government ever became suspicious of you.

Do you know any amount of time this will take to finish?

I don't think that any info is wrong, or that the US Government is suspicious of me.

I'd give it about 3 days or so, so long as there isn't anything seriously wrong with the account.

I had a paypal issue years back concerning my bank account and verification as there was two sets of residences I had between what I gave the bank and paypal. Took 3 days to resolve.

Sounds good, I finished everything but the Address Confirmation, can I just take a picture of my bills on a digital camera and send it to them?

It says they accept .jpg files.

PayPal and eBay both suck. They do this sort of thing randomly because they can. This is coming from someone who made his living off of eBay for several months :p

You may or may not have done this already, but you need to type the "paypal" address in your browser (DO NOT FOLLOW A LINK IN AN EMAIL) and call them to verify that the request is legitimate, and not some slick scam. My sister got scammed in this way by someone claiming to be her 401K co. and she lost EVERYTHING in it.

+1

Trust, but verify.

I hope everything is okay with your PP account.

I too would be very careful it is not a scam.

Half the phishing emails I receive are about "unusual account activity" or some other banking security check.

If PayPal needs further verification of your address, tell them to send you certified mail to your address on record.

I called last night, confirmed it was real, and that nothing was going on on my account. . .They said it will be un-limited ASAP.

Coming home today, it is still limited, but from what I've heard it takes up to 3 days.

Thanks for all of you that helped, I really appreciate all the assistance!

And then it will take up to 30 days. Then there will be an evaluation period. Then you'll get selling limits even though you have 98.9% positive feedback because people left inane complaints like "This software didn't work on my computer" that have nothing to with you being a good seller or not. And I HATE them
