So I was at my FLGS and I saw a small building in the gaming display and it looks like a rhino cut in half and without treads and with a bunch of small comms gear on top. And I have Google searched trying to find out what these item is, and I could not even find such a thing on the GW website, however not knowing what its called didn't help me at all. It was most certainly a tool of the Astarte's and it looked like a bunker or mobile command center, I'm not sure if it was custom job or what but it looked cool and I don't have a clue what it is.

Argh,.... little help....please

If not for the mediocre who would be great, and thank goodness for those who are just terrible they make even those who are mediocre look great

does it look something like the Space Marine Command Post on Page 77 of the rulebook? You mentioned some comms equipment on it.

actually I think that's a converted model, made from two Rhinos and some plasticard. I dont remember ever seeing something like it before.

It wouldn't surprise me, so many things for this game are custom jobs, secondary market and kit bashed and still legal....

The Secondary market is questionable, as GW sues the pants off anyone bladantly using their trademarks. However Kitbashing is necessary due to the amount of options in each codex (and some units that just are not modelled).

Nope, this is a legitimate model. It came out during planetstrike I believe: I have it, and it cost me $30 at the time. Is it really OOP now? Glad I got it when I did, but I believe it is called the battlescape. That one isn't converted at all: standard box set of terrain.

-edit-I guess you were talking about that command post on page 77, not the picture: the picture in this thread is a legitimate piece of terrain. I can't speak for the item on page 77

As we see happening with Chapterhouse, and Forgeworld is a part of GW so they don't count, but I do see what you mean, I was looking for a Tervigon (the beast that spawns 'gaunts) and found out that it needs to be kit bashed and customized....good thing I know how to work with green stuff....so that could be a good thing...maybe....

The battle-scape posted on this page is not it, however cool that dead Rhino is....

But as for the building found on page -77- of the rule book, SPace Marine Command Post, well I can't seem to find anything like it anywhere on GW and even Ebay and Amazon are not being helpful....from Planetstrike huh? I find tons of stuff from that around all the time....

Yeah but alas, that is not the model I am trying to track down, but thanks for the help...

I've tried key words, like the ones in the rule book just now and I get command squads and a battle fleet Gothic space station and such but no command post....Forge world has one out of stock for the IG but it looks more like an old WWII post....

Yeah, the buildings you're thinking of were bunkers that they showed in the 4th edition Space Marine codex. They are conversions. Very, very expensive conversions. They were never produced as a kit.

Okay, thanks for the heads up. I imagine they would be expensive too, just by looking at them all the different bits it would require...

two Rhinos in Canada is 80 bucks alone. That's not counting the plasticard and other stuff needed to make it work too. I think it was before when they had an inhouse conversion team for Black Gobbo. They had an almost infinite pool of bitz to choose from to make their models for the online articles.
