First, take a look at the GW vehicles, and then look for toy trucks, tanks, and construction vehicles of about (ABOUT) the same size. Big rigs with a trailer are a must buy item, since they give you not only a truck, but the trailer is either the base for a second one, or enough flatish plastic to build something else, like the passenger area.

It used to be Target made a line of WWII tanks and half tracks that make good Ork vehicles. If I remember correctly, the sets were a tank and a half-track or armored car for $25. I don't know if they still sell them or not.

ANY?

You can make scratchbuild ones, and add in this and thats from models, and even come upwith your own. As long as you paint it red.....

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Just look at the parts and see what you can pull off them. As a rule I never actually USE a dollar store toy for the build, but rather chop it apart and use the parts to build one. Look at the wheels and the general construction. Also does it have gears and springs inside it? (like the pull back and go toys) those are great because now you have gears and springs, and what Mek would call himself a mek without using gears and springs?

It's starting to sound less like construction and more like a cake baking recipe now =D=

See if you can mimic the aesthetic of ork vehicle construction. Alot of conversions I see tend to look like it was done to save money andi hate to see that. It makes the piece look like there's no effort put into it.

For buying a toy without looking like an idiot, just ask somebody who works there what they would recommend for a kid who likes (insert whatever you are looking for)

that, or dont make a fuss when you find the ultra cheap toy that would be perfect for whatever it is you come up with on seeing it. (a friend of mine is planing on building a vehicle sized shokk attack gun from a spinning light toy we saw at walmart for $1.50

Or just buy a toy because who cares? lol

You are not free whose liberty is won by the rigour of other, more righteous souls. Your are merely protected. Your freedom is parasitic, you suck the honourable man dry and offer nothing in return. You who have enjoyed freedom, who have done nothing to earn it, your time has come. This time you will stand alone and fight for yourselves. Now you will pay for your freedom in the currency of honest toil and human blood.

Or claim your an art student if anyone does ask. You wont believe some of the weird stuff art schools make you buy.
