Where is it located? What page of the BRB or IG codex?

Thanks.

Are the main rules on pg 32, under "Barrage" what you meant?

(4th bullet specifically)

Close but not quite it.
The thing I'm looking for is the rule saying that you can fire directly without minimum range.

Just remember that out of the IG book only the Basilisk and the Manticore can still fire directly.

The Colusus, Griffon and Deathstrike are not allowed per their own rules to ever fire directly.

(because I keep seeing people thinking that medusa's are barrage...)

Which is why I listed all the ones that are actually Barrage

No point addresing the rest!

Excepting this is the internet... And more specifically the YMDC forum: Addressing that not only are the models you listed the only ones that can direct fire, but that the option of Direct/indirect fire is also only relevant for Ordnance barrage weapons is totally necessary(otherwise you will get people trying to/asking if they can indirect fire a Medusa cannon et al)

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.
