Greetings, everyone! I'm Mark (neuicon), and I have been a long-time fan of these forums, although I had gotten out of
40K a while back. I've recently decided to come back to the game, so here I am!
Here's my story...
I used to be a total jock in High School (football), and I do mean a total jock. I would laugh at the "nerds" yet, I was a closet gamer at the time. I played D&D 2nd Edition with friends I gamed with in a different city and was a huge Magic: the Gathering nerd. I used to walk by a
GW at a mall near me shouting, "Nerds!" Yeah, I was THAT bad, I know. Needless to say, I decided to be open about my nerdom and I had chosen to see what tabletop gaming was all about.
I walked in, had a trial game of the newly released 4th Edition, and I fell in love.
I went home, talked to my girlfriend (now my fiance) and told her about this amazing game, and all she did was shout, "NERD!!" I guess I deserved it, haha. I look back thinking that what I did was wrong; heck I knew it was when I would tease them, but I was one of those guys that wanted to fit in, and I was a first string Linebacker dating a cheerleader, so I thought it was better to avoid my real self and join the jocks, which really, was lame, when I think about it now.
Anyhow, I had started on YouTube three years ago when I put up a tutorial for a Mutant Chronicles game that saw no attention, so I left it at that; I deleted the videos and simply lurked for tabletop gaming information. I finally met a few people that I am now glad to call my personal friends and have racked a nice amount of subscribers and friends and have been making videos on YouTube for 2 years now. I am real proud of the friends I have made within the
40K community.
I also design games for my very own non-commercial gaming project, so you can see, my love for gaming is in full swing today.
Anyhow, before I bore you, let me just say how glad I am to have joined my favorite forum as a lurker and I can only hope to showcase what little talents I have in the hobby itself and gather as much resources needed for my favorite game. I also hope to meet a few new friends; this forum is truly a great community.
Thanks, everyone!
