Has anyone noticed that the armour in starship troopers looks like the cadian armour of the imperial guard, just its black and nay blue with the symbol (cant spell sorry) filed off?

I'd say it looks more like the older version of Cadians, but there is a similiarity.

I think the armor they used in starship troopers has been some of the most widely used in all of scifi movie history. You can see it everywhere these days.

Oh I come from a land, from a faraway space
Where the caravan shuttles roam
Where the war is immense
And the fights are intense
It's barbaric, but hey, it's home
Imperium nights
Like Imperium days
More often than not
Are hotter than hot
In a lot of good ways |

It was also used for the Soldiers in Firefly (the ones that won the war) - "the train job".
Props are often hired out to other mobs (unless they are LFL property - GL would rather destroy them than have them used by anyone else - and their storage system leaves much to be desired.)

Hah! Guardsmen take more casualties than that escorting sharpened carrots to the Sunday Market!

It's funny, GW basically stole the concept of power armor from the Starship Troopers book, where mobile infantry were actually an elite unit with power armor and jump packs. Starship Troopers was also the first appearance of hive mind bug aliens, so GW stole that too. And they get excited about people infringing on their IP?
Then you had the movies made and they exchanged Space Marines for Imperial Guard
-Heinlein wrote Starship Troopers in 1959 btw

In the books, Starship Troopers were more like Space Marines - Heavily armored, elite troopers capable of taking down bugs like...well, Space Marines. In the movie, they seem more human - crappy armor, guns that makes noise and not much else, and very vulnerable to bugs. Kinda like...Guardsmen, maybe? EDIT: Not trying to be nasty or rude. Kinda sounded like it.

Indeed. I enjoyed the film, it was a great bit of light entertainment, but in light of the book some would say its one of the biggest missed opportunities in modern movie making history.
I would love to see what they could have done with it post-transformers.

I think I saw a Tau symbol (circle with a couple lines) on the "Pillar of Autumn" in the first Halo game. It's on the side near the front. You see it in the beginning I believe, but for sure at the end.
Hmmm ...

That's the Marathon symbol (an old Bungie game for Macs), but it is almost exactly the same as the Tau symbol.

I beleive the animated series is closer to the books than the movies. But the movies get +1 attack for disposing of characters whenever it damn well likes.

And i believe it uses said attack ON the characters. in the form of dismemberment usually.
