Hey everyone, going to a tourney today and since I was graced with a 2nd Deamon prince for Xmas my list has come under re-view. I would like to use them both, I'll give what I have available at the end of the post so you know what I'm working with for recommendations.

8x berserkers, champ, fist in a rhino w/extra armor
8x berserkers, champ, fist in a rhino w/extra armor

5x chosen, 4x melta in a rhino

Defiler, RAC, HL(glued in place kinda no option here)
Vindicator, demon possession
3x oblits

Nurg are for objectives, zerkers run up with the princes providing multiple targets to help draw fire from them and are backup if a prince gets over his head. I have a lot more nurg, about 10 CSM termies(various pw/pf/combi weapons, 10 CSM bikes and 20 demons. I do have a chaos lord, a termie sorc and a sorc on a bike available as well. Just looking for an all comers list, I know there's gonna be BA, orcs, ig, and chaos demons.

I would like to see one of the PM squads with 2xplasmaguns and maybe an AC with fist but other than that it is very solid.

nice list, the princes are going to work nicely with your heavy choices.

Firstly, you don't take plasma guns with a power fist because you cannot charge after...power fist is a offensive weapon. HOwever, some plasma wouldn't hurt..

List is pretty cool though not a fan of lash Princes with all the mech around today - it's old skool and easily countered by the type of armies be run today.

List is pretty much fine except the heavy support. I'd go with two Vindicators as unlike Defiler they're not role confused and add more Rhino chassis target saturation.

Also if you slimmed down the Chosen meltas to two (as you can only fire two out the hatch) and dropped other extras you might be able to squeeze in another Chosen unit.

Yes I would love another vindy, unfortunately I only have one :(. My other owned heavy spots are either 2x oblits( god they are $) or havocs with plasma or melta in a rhino, but I only have 5 rhinos lol.

From other chaos players, are plasma pistols any good on zerker squads, I usually don't run them so I don't have much play testing with them

List looks good! If you've got the models or can convert them quickly, I'd recommend three of the Rhinos getting combi-meltas instead of two of them getting extra armor.

Plasma pistols are overcosted and not very useful. They're a victim of the GW design pendulum, in which an option which was really popular in a previous edition gets nerfed TWICE instead of just once, by a) having a massive price increase in the codex, and b) having the rules change in the main rulebook also make them not as useful (namely more and better cover saves in 5th ed). Same thing happened to Extra Armor, which also tripled in price from the last codex, and got less necessary (all penetrating results against vehicles in 4th ALSO Stunned them).

You can give chosen 5 melta gun if you want. as the other one is a special weapon

Alright so to report on what happened, minor loss, major victor and got massacared(spelling?). I played a hybrid leaf blower/3x vendetta ig army, a 3x soulgrinder 2x bloodthirster khorne deamons army and a 2x deathstar, mephy with a libby BA list...

First two games weren't bad, he just out gunned me and a bad move cost me 2x objectives in the first game.. Vs the BA, almost everything went against me and almost everything went his way... Kinda just one of those games..can't complain, decent tourney..

See the thing about 40k is it's a costly hobby (whiche everyone knows) so if you want a good list you do have to be prepared to shell out or make do with what you've got, which sometimes isn't enough.

Only options I would go trade the Defiler in for a Vindicator. Dakka, other forums and Ebay you can sell stuff on . As for Havocs, cool but need a Rhino so you're in the same situation.

So you lost against Guard and Angels and won against Daemons? I would say against Guard and Angels you would need probably more anti tank, so double Vindicators or more Obliterators.

Yes I felt the lack of AT vs the ig player, and one lucky russ shot first turn blew off the d cannon so I was hurting right off the batt with anti tank...

Btw since I was talking about rhinos, the last game vs BA was kp, where anything that moves over 6" was 3 kp, lol I had 15kp in rhinos lol

I have been fielding them to exploit the "shoot/destroy the transport and assault the passengers who bail out" rule now in 5e. KBs don't have any other gun that can pop a AV11 transport and though overpriced, as Mannahnin said, I'm planning on using them for the a while ... at least until I assemble a sizable DE army.
