Hi all,
Here's my story.........I used to play both Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 when I was younger, my last game would have been at least 10 years ago. At Christmas time a year ago I was visiting my mothers house. She asked me to help her clear out the attic. Of course, being the wonderful upstanding guy that I am, I helped her throw out all the crap(sorry if you can't say that on this forum)whilst doing this I came across a big box with some Warhammer stickers on it and became a little intrigued. I stopped my hard work and proceeded to pour over the contents of the box.I was amazed at how many figures I had collected over the years. Obviously rather than throwing away the box of Warhammer/40k, I packed it into the back of the car and brought it home with me, thinking it would be great to keep it all for my son when he grows up.
Once home I decided to organise the models into boxes, grouping armies together, then units etc. As I started to organise the models I noticed a few had the paint pretty badly damaged so...................I decided to go and buy a few paints and brushes and fix them up. One thing led to another and I found myself buying a few models to complete some units here and there. Then I started to download and listen to various miniature wargaming podcasts and subscribe to a few wargaming magazines. Now, a year later I've decide to come out of my shell and try and explore the wargaming community and eventually get a few games under my belt. Once I play my first game I'll officially be able to call myself a hobbyist again.
Thanks for reading and may this be the first post of many(stupid questions)
My next post will be in the 'find a game section'.

Welcome mate. Great first post.
I've only just started back after a long, long break too! So we're in the same boat

Another mission, the powers have called me away. Another chance to carry the colours again. My motivation, an oath I've sworn to defend. To win the honour of coming back home again. |
