Lipsdapips here,

As some of you know, I play Ultramarines and I do love the honour guard miniatures that accompany Marneus, but I just think that some customisation would be awesome.
And also, only Ultramarines [and do blood angels?] have honour guard, and its only fair that people should be able to customise their own honour guard members without having to convert.

Thoughts/Opinions?

It would be awesome.
The problem is not many people by the kit so they have little incentive to change it.
Ideally they would have every single unit choice and entry in plastic for every single codex. But they don't. Which is a shame.
But fully customisable honour guard would rock.

I would totally buy a Plastic Honor guard set. Only to use it for conversions though. However I'd imagine the Space Marine Commander Boxset loosing sales, since you'd probably get better value for a Honor guard set, as well as making a more awesome commander.

A blood angel honor guard is the same thing as a C:SM command squad (except the apothecary is a tiny bit different-he adds furious charge too, and affects all units within 6 inches) The only similarity between a blood angel honor guard and a C:SM honor guard is the name.

And yes, they DEFINITELY need to make plastic honor guard.

I would love to have those winged helmets in plastic. plus it would invariably have all sorts of ornate bits that would make great conversion material!
Will they listen to the people who pay their wages? idk. they don't seem to do a lot of it.

With only the Ultra's and BA getting "proper" HG,i would definitely be buying a plastic kit to create my own.It would not be too expensive for a box or two and some chapter specific shoulder pads from GW.

The DA upgrade sprue and Black Templar Upgrade Sprues can produce chapter-specific "Honor Guards". Everything else though will need some conversion.

I don't know bout you but I really like the Honour guard. Yes theyre ultra expensive, but if the enemy doesn't know they are likely to ignore the unit cause they look like a little beefier marines.

Anyway I had a nice idea which involves masters of the chapter. Theyre really easy to convert into Honor guards so youve got 4 unique guys, maybe more if you use different heads

.

Also the 3rd edition metal captain with PW and SB works like a charm when you give him a standard bolter.

I would like to see HG options that didnt have the "U" hardlined into the mold.

As of now it would be just as much work to figure out how to cover up/convert the "U" as it would be to make my own with bits...

I think it would help alot if Honor Guard were a unit worth fielding, but I'd love the sprues for conversion work.

However, the Space Marines are a race that's already rather spoilt with our large range of plastics. Think there's alot of other stuff GW needs to get on, updates for the third edition codices, bringing some factions more into the plastics, etc. before making a plastic Honor Guard sprue. At least, that's my viewpoint.

Do you ever have a possitive post on power armored forces?

I play Eldar too so I understand your frustration but I dont understand the need to continually hop into these threads and slander marine players. Like it or not Marines comprise the majority of the player base and GW sales...

Just release the helmets in a bitz pack. Then acctauly make somthing we need not more marine sets. With loads of Codieces needing re-realease and new kits for many diffrent units also being needed. releasing more unneeded units is not what we need.

Sure it would be cool. Of course, plastic Broadsides or Wraithguard would be even cooler
