ok i have 4 wolf guard they all take over squads. I buy them a land raider that is now empty. Can one of the squads that I added them to use it now or do I have to wait for first turn to load onto it?

Only the unit that has the transport dedicated to it (the wolf guards in this case) may start in the transport. Wolfguards that join other units as leaders become part of that unit. So no, there is no models left that may start in the landraider, as far as I can tell.

"It may only carry the unit it was selected with (plus any independent characters)" p.67
It works one way (squad + IC) but not the other (IC + squad) or wolfguard in you case.

Ah, just that wolf guard are not ICs, and that if an IC had the ability to get a dedicated transport (as the wolfguards gone to lead other units have) they (the ICs) would probably bring the DT to the unit
No its just that the wolf guard pack leaders are no longer considered wolfguard when they join other squads, not for pupose of kill points, not for purpose of holding objectives, and not for posessing dedicated transports; only for stats, equipment, points cost and calculating unit size are they wolf guard.

No they wouldn't bring the DT to the unit. They would enable other IC to get in with them, but if you buy a transport for a unit, another unit that does not have the IC rule cannot ever begin in it.

Fayric: according to the english rules(I see you are not from a native english speaking country, although you may be fluent and reading from an english codex, no offence is intended) A squad with a DT can start inside the DT and an IC may jon them in it(providing there is room).
This does not mean that an IC with a DT(there are very few of these anyways) can have a squad join him in his DT at deployment(however another IC may join him).
The rules are specific in Unit+IC only; ICs are themselves units so the same applies to them.
This is actually one of the problems with the whole "Unit equals any independent group of models" and the lack of any "squad" terminology.

Oh, I didnt know that (obviously).
Actually I thought ICs being able to get dedicated transports was both silly and unheard of. Show how much I still have to learn
By the way, I only ever read eglish rules, but no offence taken

I am glad no offense was taken; I only added that bit because I was not sure if there was a translation error in a foreign language rulebook(I know of several in the German translations)

Like the French book having super reavers and the Dais being a ravager with transport capacity and not a raider with some extra guns?

And just to hit the original question again:
Wolf Guard who are assigned to other units cease to be part of the Wolf Guard unit (the SW FAQ is particularly clear and explicit on this), and become part of their assigned units for all intents and purposes.
If you assign all of said WG to units, there is no more WG unit in that game. And so no unit can legally deploy into the transport which was bought for the WG unit, per the rules for dedicated transports in p.67.

Yes, of course, because the WG are not actually assigned to units until after the list is made, just before deployment.

Ok, I see what your saying, only the latest codex breaks this rule. I don't have my BRB or my DE codex with me (as I am slacking at work), but Vect requires you to fill his Dedicated Transport with a squad to have him be able to take it. I could be shoot off at the mouth, been known to do that before. But I have never seen the rule that specifically states that you cannont start a squad inside of a dedicated transport that belongs to an IC, if the squad has joined with the IC. If you have a page number, I would really appreciate it.

YOu have it backwards, you need a rule that allows you to do it.

Dawson - page 67 only allows the unit that bought it plus any IC to deploy in the vehicle.
This means an IC that buys a vehicle can only deploy inside it, plus any ICs, but not other unit - as they are not ICs.
So for your way to work you need a rule that allows it, as the rules for dedicated transports state otherwise.
Vect is different, as he requires a unit to deploy with him in his vehicle. This gives you permission to deploy, when otherwise you would not have it.
