Please move if need be...thanks

Ok, so some people might have realised that I've really got into DoC. So much so that I started to order some models. However, I am incredibly frustrated that I can't order a single model for Heralds. How do other DoC players do it? Do you go for "counts as"? Do you covert from something else?/ (I would guess High Elves or somesuch have chariots) Do you use other company's minis?? I KNOW I can do what I want, but still..

Just annoyed; it feels like a conspiracy to make me buy Greater Deamon figs instead...

Get another model from a different company. There are some really good ones out there and it's always nice to see a change(ling)

My army uses exactly 29 Horrors, leaving one extra for Herald Conversion. You can also acumulate wquite a number of extra Bitz and, with some creative puttying, can make a pleasing herald.

The easiest way is to kitbash one by adding details to one of the lesser daemons but this only really works is you have plastic lesser daemons.

Another way is to use some of the other chaos figures. I reccomend looking through the WHFB chaos warriors and collectors ranges. They have a lot of suitable models -especially the collectors stuff.

I would suggest just get a "normal" lesser daemon and do some minor/major conversion work. For example for my Khorne Daemons of Chaos army(fantasy though) I have taken regular bloodletters that I'm in the progress of giving armour and more fancy horns etc.

Ok..but if I want to stck it in a chariot?? I realise I'm whinging, but I don't have the skills to scratch build one, and spending dosh on a model just to use a chariot from it grates on my miser-bone..

The plastic models are easily stuck on chariots. For Slaaneshi chariots, consider using Seekers. You can use the rider to make the herald, and the steeds combined with the Plasticard to make the chariot. If you're not afraid to shell out a bit of money, the High Elf chariot is great for this.

Khorne Chariots, just use a Bloodcrusher and any chariot from the Warhammer Fantasy Range, or the Plasticard method above.

For Tzeentch Chariots, just use a Horror and glue it to something that looks like a manta ray, or some sort of flying disc. I'm actually planning to make the chariot pull two screamers instead of the other way around for my Herald. Tzeentch is wahcky that way.

It depends on the gods. Some are easier to make than others.

It would not be vey hard to convert a chariot from spare bits. Being DoC (and 40k) it doesn't really need to be a chariot- it will be clear what it is. As long as it's some kind of platform pulled by animals it will do.

It could be as simple as a floating platform pulled by lesser daemons. it is the only chariot in the game so you have a lot of room to make what you want.
