If a creature has the instinctive behaviour rule, and is not within Range of a synapse creature at the start of it moving, it must take a leadership test. If failed it follows the instinctive behaviour rules in its entry.
Not sure what else you mean, but it doesnt matter how "big" the creature is.

Yep, even a big creature like a tyrannofex needs to test - it's just not that smart when left to it's own devices.

It's all right there in the rulebook, amigo. Only genestealers can get away with doing their own thing outside of synapse range.

There's just an acre of you fellas, isn't there? |

Several units however, such as the Deathleaper, have high enough LD that some players would be OK leaving them alone for a while.
But yes, Genestealers and Synapse creatures themselves can ignore Instinctive Behavior all the time.

@Nos: Small nitpik, it isn't at the start of "it moving", it is at the start of the phase.
@Redarmy: Those don't ignore IB, they don't have IB. It is a special rule that only some models have.

COredump - oops, thought you could move a synapse first to cover them if they were out of range. Makes more sense the way the rules actually work....
