What would be the best way to emulate a Deathwatch/Ordo Xenos army? With the new Daemonhunters codex coming out, I would rather avoid references to the current one, but throwing in ideas from Witch Hunters would be cool.

Thank you

Kantor Sternguards are the best route to go. The Sternguards were modelled on the old Tyranid Hunters of 4th edition, who in turn were mentioned to have more battle brothers actually joining the Deathwatch due to their experience in killing nids.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

coming from playing several sessions of the current Deathwatch RPG, i would take a standard-codex space-marine army with several models that are mocked up as:

Dark Angel Devistators/terminators, Black Templar Assault Marines, Space Wolves Assault Marines, Blood Angels Tactical Marines/Terminators, Storm Wardens Tactical Marines/bikes, Ultramarine Tactical Marines/bikes

Each of the above could have any number of Deatch-watch iconography on the standard color-scheme for each marine's chapter. Though any and all vehicles in your list would have to bear Deathwatch/Ordo Xenos' iconography.

Alternitively; you could stick with the black color scheme of deathwatch and just place the Chapter Insignias on one shouldier pad of all the marines.

I throw my hat in with Pedro Sternguard Scouts list. I could just see if now. Have some =I= stormtroopers done up in a storm or with sniper rifles whatever floats your boat then al your sternguard done up from different chapters. I think it would be quite a cool thing to see on the table.

Try to keep any customizations you do fairly low key. When the codex eventually comes out you don't want to have to scrap all the work you've done to conform to whatever they give it. Standard marine models with the right colors will cover like 75% of what you need.

Also tossing the Pedro/Sternguard/scouts concept into the ring. Really gives a "feel" for an elite force that (in my case) routinely gets pummeled.

I don't think you have to worry about an Ordo Xenos codex coming out and disrupting your work.

The funny thing is, sternguard ARE actually good against all the xeno races.

Another vote to sternguard and pedro here, maybe with a devastator squad with 4 heavy bolters (this is a fun list, right?) to add flavour

This is either sarcasm so potent my brain is protecting me from it's full effect or a scathing remark about the fact GW has kept DH and SoB seperate and not released an Inquisition codex...
