This may be a stupid beginner question, but...

I have been putting together a Leman Russ and Chimera and no matter how I line the tracks up, they will never fit perfectly together, all the way around. I always end up with a small gap that I try to hide underneath the tank itself.

Does everyone end up with a gap, or is it actually possible to have them line up perfectly? I tried the "dry run" technique that GW suggests, but that makes no difference (still always a gap, that I have to hide on the bottom).

The old kits always had the problem for me.

New kits are perfect! Much easier to put together.

hmm you must have gotten some of the oop models. The new ones dont have this problem. Best i can say is just hide it on the bottom and greenstuff a link track in there to make it look decent. Those old model tank tracks do suck pretty bad.

Oh I come from a land, from a faraway space
Where the caravan shuttles roam
Where the war is immense
And the fights are intense
It's barbaric, but hey, it's home

Like Imperium days
More often than not
Are hotter than hot

Never had a problem worth mentioning, always left what the track guards were going to cover bare. This way I always have leftover tracks for other projects.

The difference between commitment and involvement is like eggs and ham; the ckicken was "involved", the pig was "comitted".

^What he does.

If you have guards over the bare section and can't see them anyway, why does it matter if they aren't there?

Yes, yes, anal-retentive historical scale modellers would 'tut tut' but they don't build 'toy' tanks for playing games with.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
