Incoming: Grey Knights
— Article by Adam Troke

As the Emperor prepared for his final confrontation with the traitor Horus, he granted one final gift to Mankind, a safeguard and protection against the horrors of the Warp - the Grey Knights. A brotherhood of warriors as elite as they are secretive, the Grey Knights are a shining line of silvered steel that stands between humanity and the Daemons of Chaos.

Trained as the mightiest paragons of mental fortitude and martial discipline in the Imperium, the Grey Knights maintain a vigilant watch for daemonic incursion, responding wrathfully against the scions of the Dark Gods, and those who dally with them.

Clad in baroque Terminator armour and wielding powerful weapons such as storm bolters and Nemesis force weapons, the Grey Knights tear through the enemy, unleashing an onslaught of psychic powers and sorcery to sunder the foe.

The Grey Knights are an unstoppable force, the manifestation of the Emperor's will, valiant warriors who willingly sacrifice their own humanity so that Mankind itself can endure.

This April Games Workshop releases Codex: Grey Knights, alongside a comprehensive range of fantastically detailed Citadel miniatures. Although details are being kept firmly under wraps for now, you can expect an exciting selection of plastic kits to enable you to build your own Grey Knights army.

Over the coming weeks we'll be releasing more details both here on the Games Workshop website and also in the pages of White Dwarf - to ensure you're the first to get the news, make sure you subscribe to the Games Workshop newsletter and keep an eye on the What's New Today blog.

Finally a new "marine" army so my Blood Angels will lose its "latest marine codex of overpoweredness" smell, now I just have to wait for another marine codex so I can grab myself some Grey Knights!

Fixed. Also nice to see some new marines with sticks on the way. I quite like the armour the design of the current ones, plastic ones migh just drag me into marines again. Though I'd likely use them for conversions more.

Sweet, so they give us a heads up and let us go mad waiting for pics of the new plastic kits. Should certainly help with my Bt army, but might even start GK. Helps my birthday is at the end of march.

Excellent.

I am very pleased to hear our brothers of the Grey Knights chapter will be joining us in a new and improved format soon.

May the heretic, daemon and xenos alike tremble.

Many thanks for the article link.

This is going to be exciting. I have been waiting for an excuse to build up a Grey Knights army. The only problem is, will warhammer 40K become Greyhammer 40K? Everyone I have talk to is going to build an army. Seems no diffrent here on Dakka. I can already see a bunch of Chaos players listing thier army's on Ebay LOL.

Why do I suddenly feel my Chaos Daemon army will be terribly, terribly destroyed without much of a fight.

The fact about 14 of my friends are gonna collect them dosn't help.

No idea as it depends entirely on the new codex.

I am planning on doing a small Grey Knight force using Mantic's Khaos Dwarfs, but really, I a thinking I want a Daemon army now since one of my primary gaming buddies is a GK player and is looking forward to the new Codex as well.

I was hoping for this as well...

800 brethren and 2,000 other personnel were expected to reach Crows World within no more than 12 hours. They never arrived.

Between Alpha and Omega, and a little to the left

You know, I see pages and pages and pages and pages of people complaining about the prevalence of Space marine codexes in 40k, but when I hear rumors of all the things the Grey Knights are getting, which remind me more and more of the space wolves and blood angel codex every time I see them, and that the Inquisition half is getting gutted and reduced to a single FOC slot, I can count the amount of people complaining on a single hand.

I think it would have made a bit more sense, but overall I am pleased that they are going through and fleshing out the Inquisition armies rather than combining them.

I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

Hey this is fantastic. Finally the codex hopping, mouth breathing legions can stop getting flak for not playing red marines or blue marines and just play what they want with grey plastic marines. Cause that's exactly what we needed, marine players putting even less effort into their armies.

I simply can't wait.

Good, about time they were absolutely confirmed.

Also, what's with the cynical bastards here? Grey Knights wait something like ten years to get a codex and only to get *****ed at by you people? Grey Knights have no reason to care what you guys think, they've waited long enough and deserve a new codex, Marine army or not.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

People act like the Grey Knights are some cool Indie band that only they can like because they discovered them first, and that everyone elses taste is mainstream crap... Well, the Grey Knights will die like everyone else before the might of the Lord of Cheese!

Once you go grey, no one will play.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?
