My take on a Tyrannofex. I painted this one a while back for my brothers hive fleet

Looks good. My one complaint would be the barrel is too smooth/clean.

Same comment. I think you did a nice job on the execution, which would have been even nice had the barrel looked a little more organic.

I also think it looks bland but i could not think of anything to sculpt onto it.

Just coat it in green stuff, and make some marks in it. Gives you a nice uneven surface and fills the gaps under those armor plates.

The MASSIVE biovore look is cool! I would advocate using some GS to fill in the unused arm holes though, unless you're planning to use them for something.

Well!

I think that is a very worthy model, and a nice paint job, it looks sufficiently like what it is armed with and is recognizable and easy to distinguish. Good job, I think it's a fantastic play piece!

Artistically I think the round tube used in the cannon is too obvious, the additions are well done but its just not enough to incorporate the obvious perfect round geometry of the barrel! I suggest perhaps in a MK2 version some green stuff scalloped armor on the barrel would be perfect!

Much better! Now that's what I call a cannon!

Of course, they seem to be better fielded in sets of 2. More 'Nids, more pics please!

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

The way I picture a tyrannofex conversion is using FW wrecker carnifex's shoulder bit, as its double ram poles can be easily converted into a double barreled (ASS 2) heavy (S10) long ranged (48") shoulder mounted weapon (leaving arm sockets as additional pair of legs and just one pair of either scything talons or crushing claws, if necessary), just as this great model here, but almost already converted (it just needs some drilling for the cannons and some tendril/ammo sacs around).

Another bit I would add would be a carnifex spine cluster shoulder bit, glued to the rib cage under the head to represent its thorax swarm in any of its possible configurations, as well as its almost unique 2+ armor save...
