Deathwing Terminator with Assault Cannon

well I'm fairly new to warhammer 40k, most ive done is played a few games with a proxy necron army(I was informed no necrons ever again)
TO THE POINT
I like the versatility an entire deep striked army has(E.G. Drop Pods, assault packs) however I see the major potential of being slaughtered piecemeal, so I'm just wondering if there is a group that emphasizes this playtype without being omfg cheezy(BA)

Honestly? Daemons of Chaos. Deep Strike is THE ONLY way to get into that battlefield, and trust me. Blood Crushers inflict ungoldy damage.
Otherwise Dark Angels come to mind, deep striking Deathwing armies? Yum yum.

Alluring Mounted Daemonette

Daemons Daemons Daemons...
How does eternal warrior (immunity to instant death), invul saves (don't have to worry about not getting save due to AP), and fearless army wide sound...not to mention a crap ton of monstrous creatures? Plus they come modeled as is...no more having to glue on grenades to satisfy anal WYSYWYG people. Plus their models look awesome.

On the Deathwing idea we get a rule called deathwing assault which works the same as drop pod assault. Half the deathwing squads, rounded up, can deep strike on the first turn. Nifty; but you'll have to keep in mind your playing C: SM beta. In other words, all the cool nifty stuff in C A can probably be found cheaper, and better, in C: SM. Thus IMO, field them only for deathwing and ravenwing armies.
Drop pod armies are quite reliable due to the drop pod assault rule explained above and can be quite effective.
BA's have a special rule known as Decent of Angels ( DoA) which makes them scatter only 1D6 when deep striking thus are a tad more reliable than other deep striking armies, though still suffer from having to come in normally from reserve.
Daemons have already been explained, IIRC they also have a rule similar to drop pod assault.

If you're going to do a drop pod army, consider the Black Templars Codex. Us Templars still have to roll for reserves to get our pods in, which at first might look like a disadvantage. However, when you realize that all an opponent has to do to hamstring a 5th ed all-pod list is to reserve everything, being able to almost certainly get something to drop close to and attack becomes pretty nice. Oh, and Tank Hunter dual assault cannon terminators in drop pods brings pain and death to all who oppose us!
EDIT: AND, people seldom play as BT or DA because the newer books "can do everything that they can, but better" (HINT: They can't!).

I say either look into the above Black Templar army. A really valkyrie heavy guard army with stromtruppen and Creed.
Or go Daemons. Any flavor works.

Tyranids can do a combination of deepstriking and flanking in a variety of ways, making for a very dynamic army list. Trygons and Mawlocs are the best when it comes to deepstriking Tyranids.
