So, imagine a unit of knightly orders with the flaming banner. Imagine that one of their warhorses kicks a troll, managing to wound him. Is it a flaming wound?

The guy I was playing when this happened quoted the section of the rulebook that says "special rules that apply to the rider don't apply to the mount." He was quite adamant about it, and it was a fairly important point because the wound I did meant I won the combat on the musician, and he broke and ran. To me, it seems that this section of the rulebook doesn't apply because the flaming attacks rule doesn't apply to "the rider" but to "all models in the unit." what do people think?

As I read it, it would apply to the mounts as well as the riders. The models are getting the bonus.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

If the "unit" gets the bonus, it is BOTH the mount and the rider.

Essentially restricting it just to the rider requires making up rules , as nowhere do the rules state this.

Yea, as a rule of thumb it seems safe to say that if the gear/mark says only the "bearer" or "wielder" or whatever, then it doesn't go to the mount. If it says "unit" or "model" then it does.

So, what about hatred from warrior priests? Same logic applies, but it makes less sense fluff-wise.

Are you kidding me? We Dark Elves have infused our steeds, Cold Ones, Hydras, Manticores, and Dragons with so much loathing and disgust they all Hate everyone! I suppose the champions of the pathetic humans might be able to coerce what passes as a horse for them into a little extra effort.

Malleus - exact same rules apply. If the entire unit gets it then that includes mounts in a mounted unit.

Think of it as "bellowing priest makes horses angry"

That's a funny image (though I do think it's a bit more of a stretch. Horses are not an overly complicated animal. "Hatred" might be a bit too advanced for them to wrap their horsie brains around. Don't even get me started on Cold Ones. How can something that is so stupid it occasionally forgets to move manage to hate anything?).

The knights with the flaming banner is a really cool image. I bet they leave a trail of flame in their wake.

I don't think cold ones are too stupid to move, they just don't want to take orders from their handlers.

I think this might have already been covered, but does this same rule apply to frenzy for chaos knights with the mark of khorne?

Yes, Mark of Khorne on knights grants frenzy to the unit, which includes steeds.

Well played, sir.
