Just started my medal Sternguard models, about 50% done this model, however i have reached a point where its getting a little to bright for the crimson fists. Alot has not been completed. Just showing the first stages of the highlight.

The model is under my painting light so still seems bright, but did a nice blue wash on it, finished up some details, perhaps another wash to darken the blues. Still long way to go though :(

Did the seals, was experimenting with brown and bleached bone and skull white, with a wash

The image doesnt really show the transition between the highlights on the body, but they are there!

A wash or two will tone down the brightness, I'm sure.

Baal red over the orange then use blood red or a mechrite red/orange mix to pick out the edges Work's awesome for crimson.

I agree the red's a little too bright/orangey, but a Baal Red wash should tone it down enough to allow a Blood Red/Blazing Orange mixture to highlight very effectively. I've been told that my Fists' highlights aren't quite orange enough, though, so go figure.

Nice model, let's see it finished!

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

In your cellar...waiting...watching

depending on if you want it pristine or weathered, using a very lightly loaded sponge with boltgun metal would take some of the brightness away from the raised areas like the shoulder pads and around the kneed pads.

It depends on what you have envisioned

Thanks, just posted the updated pics with some washes. Ran out of the red wash, so going to have to wait on that.
