i had a guy Tank shock me with a Chaos rhino the other day. It had a Dirge Caster on which is all well and good. but he says to me i suffer a -2 to my Leadership as the Dirge caster says "Enemies at additional -1 LD for Tank Shock"
Does the Tank Shock -1 to its Leadership anyway?
or is this a bit of Shiniangans?

There is no innate -1 penalty to being tank shocked without special wargear.

the previous poster has it correct...tank shocks provide no negative modifier to your leadership unless wargear or some other rule says so
check pg 68 of the BRB for further info on tank shocks

Also your friend isnt using the current chaos codex; the dirge caster was removed in the 4th ed codex.

Nos: Page 87; Dirge Caster, does exactly what the OP said.  Oh, yeah, OP: the others are correct, no inherent modifier to Ld from Tank shock. I am looking for my 4th ed rulebook to see why it says "extra" in the text. edit: Found the rulebook, still no idea why it says extra; there is no reason I can think of.

ok, so you meant "removed" as in "removed from availability to the Rhino"?
I read your post as removed from the Codex as a whole; to which i was going to say; I know it is still there and have a friend that uses one on his landraider.
jdj: Vindies can get is too; as well as predators, rhinos and Defilers cannot have it(although defilers would never be able to use it).

Totally bummed that Rhinos can't get them anymore. Tank shocking with a Vindi equipped with one won me a very close game a couple of leagues ago.
