Aren't the other 'beast' type models in 40k on the long rectangle base? Chaos D beasts? I wish to make beasts, and found this as an indicator to use the rectangles, but have been told by many the 40 mm will be the main thing. Why does it seem to many 40kers that the new Razorwings need to be on round 40 mm? What'd I miss?

Razorwing flocks are a swarm of things, and "swarm" type models in the game are always represented on a 40mm. This is evident in that they're stated NOT to be a single creature, but a mass of smaller ones.

The Khymera and Clawed Fiend on the other hand are more conventional Beasts. However they do not explictly have the Beast Rule, so they can just be larger than average infantry models, which normally go on 40mm as well. However they're clearly Beast-type creatures and can also go on the long rectangular bases as well. It all comes down to what the resulting models are, but the rectangular one should work for Khymera and Clawed Fiends (as the prior Warp Beast models were on those bases if I remember) and the Razorwing flock should go on 40mm round ones (as with other swarm-based units).

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.
