Ive been painting my models by doing a base coat, highlighting by dry brushing, then washing. My brother introduced me to Quickshade by Army Painter because he said it would be much faster to paint my models. I play Imp Guard and having already painted 60 guardsman ill do anything I can to speed it up.

I am not looking to win any awards, just want to field some decent looking guys on the board that doesn't look like a 5 year old painted them. He told me that you either use Quick shade or dry brush, but not both.

Now my question, has anyone had any luck using both methods to make your tabletop models look decent? If so, do you shade first then dry brush, or do you try brush first then dip?

Thanks

There's no reason you can't do both. It will give you stronger highlights than just dipping.
If you are going to do both then you'll want to drybrush first. Quickshade will tie everything together. If you drybrush after then your highlights aren't going to match the now tinted basecoat so they'll look odd.

To be honest, quick shade kinda self highlights so you don't really need to drybrush unless putting on your basecoat requires drybrushing (like painting eagles with tin bitz/gold etc)
