Subject: Dude, so I just watched Season of the witch (the Nick Cage one, not the George Romero one)
And I have got to say, I cannot fathom why it is so disliked. I mean, I can understand why it isn't breaking the box office. They don't have a formulaic plot, and it isn't a happy ending. It isn't for everyone. It's basically a B movie, with B+ aspirations, but it was pretty decent. There were a couple moments where they lost me, but overall, that was a durned enjoyable flick. That said, I seem to find redeeming qualities in a lot of other hated movies.

I am totally on board as long as they get Ron Perlman, and maybe a Jason Statham cameo. And Bruce could play one of the Beatles, who faked their own death. But really he is HP Lovecraft, who faked his own death. Then started the Beatles. Because he was bored. And Cthulhu started a band, and he had to beat them in the battle of the bands. Because some aliens said so. Or Else.
Automatically Appended Next Post: ...... But on a more serious note, do you all consider B movies to be that bad? I honestly find that I like B movies more than most big blockbusters because B movies usually have a small enough budget that they can afford to take risks; and there is more chance that it is someone's idea rather than a movie created by committee.

I love B-Movies because you can never go wrong with them. If they turn out to be good it's a fun movie to watch and if they suck then you can just laugh and make jokes at it for the entire movie (I believe Mike Nelson made a living off those) lol.

A movie with a low budget can still be excellent.
A movie that's just bad is just bad. You can potentially enjoy it anyway with some beer and some friends making fun of it, if it's silly enough, but after a while you lose the ability to enjoy them without friends making jokes, and you'd rather spend your time on all the stuff that's actually good out there. There's so much good art out there that you'll never get to all of it anyway.

Oh yes definitely a film with a low-budget can be good. I said that in the earlier post. And just because I morbidly enjoy bad movies doesn't mean I miss out on "good art." Like I said I just enjoy a good unintentional comedy from time to time and B-movies are some of the best ones lol.

We all miss out on good art. As I said, there is so much good art out there that you literally CAN NEVER EXPERIENCE IT ALL. For some folks, once we get a few years behind us, we realize that fact and decide that life is too short to keep watching crap; even if it is mildly amusing.

lol each to his own dude I guess. I think your blowing my moribund curiosity of bad movies out of proportion but ok.

To the link, I guess thats called growing up. I used to be a HUGE TCM fan and loved gore fest type movies, but now they just get on my nerves. Im also very picky on zombie movies now, most the time I just want to vomit and build stuff sand castle style with it then actually watch most zombie flicks.
