Hello all! I've been trying to make a Fallen angels list using the CSM codex.
I already have Cypher and I've converted some plague marines, rhinos, meltachosen and some chaos terminators to look like fallen DA.

For list making what do you suggest would be a fluffy yet strong choice to represent the Fallen?
i.e. I normally use Kharn's or a Chaos Lord's rules for Cypher.

How should I focus my force org. chart to remain in the style of dark/fallen angels?
(I've been thinking of adding in some large bike squads for fluff/anti-tank/icon dsing)

What sort of modelling/conversion options do you think would be most interesting to fit my theme?

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Fallen are one of the two ideas I've been playing around with, but due to a lack of time, havent been able to do. Personally I'd think a fallen force would consist largely of infantry, with little to no heavy vehicles (so no raiders, but perhaps a few hijacked Demolishers and Predators).

I turned my Dark Angels into a Fallen force. They're my primary tournament army for the last couple of years.

When I originally made the army it was in 4th edition under the previous codex, and my primary HQ was a Dark Apostle (the Asmodai model). I've used him as an unmarked Lord with Daemon Weapon and icon a few times, although nowadays I mostly use a daemon prince and sorcerer (the Ezekiel model)

I focus/ed mostly on non-cult units. I use Oblits and some terminators painted in a similar scheme to the Deathwing. I've haven't yet gotten around to painting up bikes, as they're just so overpriced in the Chaos dex. But I have a couple of boxes awaiting assembly.

Though for the '07 Baltimore GT I used the regular SM 'dex:

wow Mannahnin that's pretty epic. I was thinking of using them as a CSM force only. (maybe DA if it had rules for Cypher) I generally use Oblits, Termies, PM, Cypher (as Kharn), Rhinos, and CSM.

Maybe I could add some Ravenwing like you were thinking? I have 3 Chaos ones but I'm wondering what comes with this sprue:

Anyone think there would be enough extra bits to upgrade 3 existing CSM bikes along with the kit?

Thanks!

If you're using Chaos, I honestly don't really recommend the bikes. They're significantly overpriced, points-wise.

One of my newer additions is a land raider, which I also painted bone white to match my terminators. It makes a really nice centerpiece.

ML Havocs are a good unit; they're a logical unit for Fallen to have, and you can use an Icon for a summoning point for lesser daemons, having a scoring unit pop up on your side of the table while you send your more expensive CSMs to your opponent's side of the table to assault and take his objectives.

for my fallen dark angels I did a termie lord with instand death daemon weapon to represent a relic of the dark ages,

2 squads of chaos marines, 1 with 2 melts 1 with 2 flamers

korne berserkers to represent veteran assault marines from so long ago

land raider

2 rhinos

a havoc squad with ML's

5 foot slogging chaos termies with reaper autocannon which was the older more tech version autocannon in my fluff.

works well as there is no mutations or chaos units, they all are robed and ornate looknig to be fitting of being older marines.

York/London(for weekends) oh for the glory of the british rail industry

@mannahnin: wouldn't the fallen be in black as they split from the legion before the colour change?

or is it a fallen company from the Dark Angel chapter not legion?

Relictors: 1500pts

its safe to say that relictors are the greatest army a man , nay human can own.

The problem with making a fallen army at least fluff wise is that they would hardly be a ordered fighting force, there more like pockets of warriors spread out across the galaxy, and while Cypher may be able to attract groups of them to him I doubt thered be enough of them to be a sizeable fighting force. Fluff wise some of them arent even warriors now and are just trying to fit into regular society (the way an 8ft man with two hearts who can eat through metal, spit poison, and amongst other things see the genetic memories of the dead by eating there flesh can )

I thought Space Marines were 7 feet. =/

Also, some Fallen have gone completely to the Dark Side (sorry for the pun). Those that become true chaos space marines or pirates will likely have a few good bits of tech in their hands, however it's probably limited to light tanks (predators) and bikes at the most. Vindicator ammunition and Land Raider maintenance might be too much for them, and Daemon Engines might be completely out of their grasp (depending on how far gone).

Good questions. Black would probably be more appropriate, yes, although IME DA Green + chaos stuff is instantly recognizable to a lot of folks as Fallen. Part of my fluff for why I have a whole army's worth together is that they have recruited some more recently Fallen renegades, to flesh out their ranks.

My original DA army is called Task Force Nemesis, and is a Fallen-hunting Expeditionary Force, operating on the edge of the Eye of Terror. The whole army has metal Deathwing shoulder pads, denoting that even the regular battle-brothers have been made probationary initiates into the Deathwing, knowing the secret of the chapter and expected to win full initiation by capture of Fallen or die trying. They are sometimes forced to resupply using captured Chaos wargear, and as such I've modeled even the loyalist models with several Chaos bits mixed in here and there (helmets, shoulder pads, bolters, my Predator's turret), each marked with a purity seal and specifically cleansed and rededicated to the Emperor by the Interregator-Chaplain who leads the force.

When I decided to adapt the army into Fallen, I decided that the whims of the Chaos Gods have pulled together a force of scattered Fallen, in a dark mirror of Task Force Nemesis, to hunt them in turn, and to sow unholy doubt and suspicion in other Chaos and Loyalist forces in the region which encounter them. An Imperial Guard regiment or company of Space Marines might never be able to tell until engaging whether they have come across a force of Dark Angels or a murderous band of Chaos Space Marines. I call this army simply "Nemesis".

Actually, when I first built the Fallen army I deliberately didn't use Daemons and used the 3.5 Chaos Word Bearers rules, so the only Mark they had was Undivided, representing high morale rather than actual adherence to the Chaos Gods. The Dark Apostle/Accursed Crozius rules meant that I had my Chaos Lord/Chaplain too; a dark mirror of the Interregator-Chaplain, and rules & fluff-wise it was ambiguous whether they were actually evil or not. Later I made them actual chaos worshippers, mostly because I wanted to paint up and use cool daemonic units.

Duce- I recently did the same thing as you with Berserkers = Veteran Assault Squad. With the rest of my army, only Vet Sgts/Champions & some Icon-bearers are in robes. My counts-as Berserkers are all in robes, and the champion has red-painted armor, to help make it clear to my opponent.
