Hey all, I've been looking on the GW website, but can't seem to find it...

Any idea where I can buy it?

Pretty sure you can buy them from the GW website... probably where the other templates are.

I was told at the time they came out by a staffer that they were splash (i.e. limited) releases to promote Apocolypse and the DE book respectively.

Hence why the webway one is going for double its original price on eBay.

You could always find a polystyrene sphere the same diameter and make your own.

I'm almost certain they were both limited edition releases.

one of my LHS still has the vortex template, it's not worth the asking price honestly.

Yes, the Vortex grenade template was a limited edition fr Apocalypse and sold out within a month.
The DE portal template had the same size, but a different print (with Commoragh shimmering through the portal), was also a limited edition and also sold out pretty fast.
Try ebay.

Mines been collecting dust ever sense that expansion set came out. Never had a chance to use it.

Its pretty much a generic star and galaxies picture with a white vortex center and purple lightning. High gloss on the half sphere.

We have a few of them at the FLGS. They really don't look worth it.

If you get one, keep the packaging.
You can use it to make two more of them with a bit of work.
