I'd say replace the Captain with a librarian, a much bigger boost to the whole army, and give that third tac squad its free missile launcher.

Also, lose the drop pod for a rhino-one pod will just come in first turn and me shredded, and use the extra points from the deathwind for one more assault guy.

Just kinds of tidies up the edges a bit, but a fun well rounded list overall.

-I would drop the captain for a librarian
-Drop the deathwind missles and give the pod to the MM dread
-Give the MM dread a Heavy flamer
-Give the third tac squad a rhno

Quite a lot of Marines in that list, but i think there are things that could improve it.......

Firstly, i don't know, but i would guess One drop podded squad would not do very well....I think if you want a solo pod, a Dread is the best thing you can put it in!

Also, with your HQs, what are their jobs/where are they going, maybe free up points to give one of them a jump pack (maybe get rid of the other one?)

Dreads, there nice, but best combo atm seems to be 2 TL AC, so if you can convert them up its probably a good idea taking them.
Solo Predator, i don't like so much, but with 2/3 Rhinos (I would swap drop pod for rhino) it might do alright, but maybe swap a HQ for another Pred?

Then if you have spare points, maybe have a PW or PF in your Tac sqauds

Echoing what other have said, 1 tacticool squad in a drop pod will get vaporized. They should swap for a rhino. If you're dead-set on keeping the MM dread, then he gets the drop pod, sans deathwind launchers.

Double captain isn't going to be very effective, you're better off with a single library-man or a special character. Problem is if you swap for a rhino on that tac squad, then the libby needs a ride. Dropping down 10 marines + 2 characters isn't a great idea, but having them wander by themselves is worse.

I'd drop the las/missile dread and the pred, swap the dual-captains for a single librarian and give all the tac squads missiles/meltaguns. Something like this for starters.

Librarian - 100

Tac Squad - Missile, Meltagun, Rhino -- 210
Tac Squad - Missile, Meltagun, Rhino -- 210
Tac Squad - Missile, Meltagun, Rhino -- 210

Dread - MM, HF, Pod -- 150

10 Assault Marines - Power Fist -- 215

That'll leave you with 405 points to play with. You can drop the assault squad, or even get them a rhino. If you remove the jump packs you get one for free. I would advise against putting them into a drop pod. Also you should take 2 special weapons on them, fast moving melta is always welcome.

Heck if you gave them a rhino and dropped back to 9 men you could put the Librarian in there. That or just get another squad to put him in with.

Lost in the warp while searching for a new codex

ASM cant take melta in the Vanilla codex tho , if you take Assault marines then get dual flamers. I would also consider sticking jump pack on the Libby so he can join them and help them out flaming stuff with Avenger.

Two tacticals are usually enough but YMMV.

not a fan of a lone poding dread either. For 150pts you pretty much get a one shot MM that will miss 1 time out of three.

thanks for the comments guy...prolly will drop the pod and pick up another rhino for the third squad...I have a librarian, and will see how it works running him. Thanks again, though.

what if I dropped the captain and chaplain and drop pod...picked up the libby and a razorback...break down one of my ten man squads into five men, and bring another rhino?
