Hopefully quick question. I thought I read somewhere, codex or errata, that when a lord with a resurrection orb was downed, the resurrection orb no longer works until he stands back up on the next turn (if he does). Can someone point that out, or am I wrong?

yes when the lord is put down the rez orb will be innactive, since he was downed when it was active the lord can always get back up though
IE.
lord gets put down by power fist, squad within 6 inches no longer gets benefits.
next turn lord gets back up with a wound the squad within 6 inches gets the benefits back.

Well here's a thought. The orb works with a gesture from the lord to allow them to stand back up. Does that gesture happen when they fall or stand up, cause if it's stand up then he wouldn't be able to do that on himself so it wouldn't work for him.

I suggest you hav a look at the NEcron FAQ, which specifically covers res orb and who gets to use it.

The ResOrb affect happens at the time the Necron is damaged not at WBB time. So, if the Lord is damaged, his wargear doesn't work thus on help from the ResOrb. If the Lord is up, wargear works thus help from the ResOrb.
