Subject: Gaming etiquette question - Do you let your opponent adjust for 2" coherency after moving?

Just like the post says, I find myself doing this all the time. I will move each of the models in a unit 6", and then adjust coherency at the end, careful not add extra movement. I am just curious if other people generally allow this or is this bad etiquette? Obviously, this is much quicker than checking each models coherency after each individual movement.

I'm cool with it as long as you are not using the adjustment to your advantage. Even if you did (a little), I would probably not say anything.
It's just a game and in the complex dynamics of a game it would most likely not affect the outcome.

I would prefer just moving precisely because, whether intentional or not, that extra nudge one way or another can change whether or not something is just slightly in or out of range at a game-deciding moment. People who are sloppy with their movement seem to do better in those 'ifffy 50/50 ish kind of situations, and thusly I just don't trust it unless it is obviously not game-effecting (0.12" doesn't matter as much at 58.3" than it might at 11.88" for instance difference between rapid fire or not). I just don't think it's cool to even ask unless its obviously non game-effecting, in which case, yeah cool whatever.

Playing a horde army, I let my opponent know I'll adjust my boyz afterwards to save time. This way, I can move 100 models in a speedy manor. I never adjust the front roll though.

When I'm playing with or against a horde army, I generally tell them to just move the first row or two, and fill in the rest behind, to save time. If some models are moving 6.25 inches, I don't really care if it saves me 15minutes to a half hour a game.

Yes.
The thing is, you CAN'T move out of coherency voluntarily. Thus the previous move technically didn't happen. Either you can go back and re-play the last turn, or you can just gently nudge them back into place.

This shouldn't Matter at all unless your not adjusting your Front 2, sometimes 3, lines of guys. As long as your not trying to move them move than the 6 inches, it wont matter. Hell if I'm running a horde style army and I know im going to be running my guys and not shooting with them, my opponents will almost always let me roll the D6 for running and just add it onto my movement and save both of us a ton of time.

The guy at GW taught me a little trick to speed up moving my units. Measure _very_ carefully the first row and last row of models. then fill in the rest. I don't see how that could really break the game that much, if at all, and i'm more than willing to let both sides do it if it speeds up the game.

I generally move one or two models in front to mark where the "limit" is, then shove the rest up and put them back up again (since technically they were on their side at the time, they didnt "finish" their move). My opponents can be real rule-lawyers at time, so I get by with what I can. Other times though I just dont care and shove them all up in one massive blob, mainly because some opponents dont have blast templates.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When moving my Terrmagants I move a couple of marker models from the front of the unit, then a couple from the rear of the unit, then move all the ones from the middle as a blob and spread them out artistically.
It simply isn't worth the time carefully measuring the moves for dozens of very small, weak models.

I don't mind at all, until I catch some F Wad doing it for advantage. Then that ship has sailed, and I will watch you move every single model from now 'til eternity.
