So for a few days now, I've been tossing and turning ideas for a paint scheme for my Guard army. I've only ever used a basic colour scheme. Now I've decided to move up, and I've been trying to replicate something like this:

The jackets is the thing that's got me stumped. I'd love to replicate a paint job like it, but I don't know where to start.

Any opinions on what paint(s) I should try out?

I know of a certain DKOK painter that could help you with this, (he's done it before).. damn it! Forgot his name.. Hopefully he sees this!

Vallejo Model Color should have the shades you want for realistic military uniforming. They also make a WWII specific paint line that may work well.

Yeah, some of the DKOK work I've seen in the Gallery are very similar to this scheme (and I love their work). I was leaning towards something less...green than what I was seeing? I do like me grey jackets.

But like said, I have no idea where to start. :(

aerethan: Thanks! I'll check out their paint ranges.

Definately try out the Vallejo line. Look at Dark Blue-Grey and Basalt Grey

Thanks for the reply! I'd imagine that the dark blue-grey would be applied to the model first, and the basalt grey used for highlights?

I was just wondering, do you guys know of any Citadel paints that would substitute the Vallejo Basalt Grey and Dark Blue-Grey?
