How well do sisters keep up in 5e (comparing to SM and IG )?

Both the SM and the IG have some really strong lists. But, generally speaking they seem to do alright despite being an old codex.

Mech sisters can be very nasty, a similar build to IG vets in chimeras.

Back in the UK and hating it

They can melta spam, so in that regard do well. the downside is some of their vehicles are expensive compared to the same items in the other codices.

Be prepared to shell out some cash. The models being so outdated, they come really expensive. My local GW doesn't even carry any sisters stuff. You can only get sisters in packs of 3, and there is no battleforce to save money with.

Rumored plastic kits are in the works, so I say wait for those. The Metal Sisters are also not exactly "pretty". >.>

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

It's an army built on meltas, flamers, and mechanization before they were cool. The current models are fine, especially for their age, but their price isn't. Metal troops is a hard concept to swallow as is.

You should have started an Imperial Guard army, oh about fifteen years ago

There's no solid date (or solidish rumour) regarding a new release of sisters. So far it's only conjecture, but it has to happen some time. By the time they come out I should have the funds to muck around with them again, especially if we get plastic goodies.

You can still do so today. Oh, the pains of collecting Platoons of Vostroyans!
