Let me get this off my chest. Black Templar terminators with 2 lightning claws both have 2 attack each correct? adding 4 attacks. Now with both being CC weapons is that another +1 attack or are they not allowed that bonus?
if correct thats a total of 5 attacks on the first assault turn????!

Allso Lightning claws allso do re-rolls to hit & wound?, please correct me if im wrong thats why im here.

furious charge adds +1 to strength and +1 to initiative.

Now an attached Chaplain allso adds re-rolls to it in close combat plus making them fearless.

Last but not least the Emperors champion Vow: accept any challange no matter the odds that allso adds re-rolls to hit.

Summery:

5 attacks
3 re-rolls to hit
1 re-roll to wound
Fearless
+1 to strength
+1 to initiative

Please confirme

Note im a noob

Spreading the word of the Turtle Pie

Black Templars terminators have 2 attacks each. The lightning claws add 1 attack, as they are two close combat weapons. If charging, they'd get 1 more attack for a total of 4 attacks.

Lighting claws only re-roll to wound, as is stated in the rulebook and (I think) the Black Templars codex.

As for the Vow that gives preferred enemy, that is somewhat undercosterd now as preferred enemy meant that you'd always hit on a 3+ in the old rules.

Terminators can be nasty, but you're paying a large price tag to give them all that equipment and characters.

so having only 1 claw would merely give you the power claw benefits (power weapon. rerolls to wound) To get the extra attack you'd have to have a matched pair of claws?

Well black templars assault terminators pays nothing for 2 Lightning claws just their base cost.

Yes, that is correct. *normally* you can have 2 ccw to get an extra attack, but lightning claws, thunder hammers and powerfists require two of the same weapon to get this extra attack. Page 42 spells this out.

Only reroll to wound - Wolf Claws, which are *like* lightning claws, choose whether to reroll to hit or to wound.

Remember you can NEVER reroll a reroll (page 3, from memory) meaning that say a chaplain plus preferred enemy still only allows you to reroll your to-hit once, not twice.

Making black templars chaplains next to pointless. If you take a chaplain, you're as well to make it Grimaldus, otherwise it just isn't worth it IMHO.

I think you've got it but just want to be super clear.

On the charge:
2 attacks base, +1 for 2 CCW, +1 for charging
Re-roll ALL failed hits because of prefered enemy.
Re-roll ALL failed wounds because of lightning claws.
+1 Str(making them S5), +1 Init(making them I5) ONLY on the turn the charge in. Next round they go back to Str 4 I 4.
All attacks are power weapons.

On the charge:
2 attacks base, +1 for 2 CCW, +1 for charging ( yes )
Re-roll ALL failed hits because of prefered enemy. (yes if you have that rule in effect)
Re-roll ALL failed wounds because of lightning claws. (yes)
+1 Str(making them S5), +1 Init(making them I5) ONLY on the turn the charge in. Next round they go back to Str 4 I 4. ( if they have furious charge special rule yes)
All attacks are power weapons. (per the rules for lightning claws yes)

Indeed, since BT are fearless in close combat anyway. The only benefit for the chaplain is letting them be fearless outside of close combat too but that rarely matters (and not as much as being fearless in CC).

Actually, in 5th edition, I would much rather be fearless outside of combat and stubborn inside of combat. But I guess if I had to choose between being fearless in cc and nothing outside of it or vice versa, I would be fearless in cc. Still, no retreat wounds are horrible sometimes.

Absolutely, I'd rather have stubborn than fearless any day of the week. I played a battle mission that gave both sides the stubborn rule (I play crons) and man was it awesome.

It is indeed new. And trust me, all the Templars are rejoicing today. Well, except we took a few light hits with the nerf bat, but nothing compared to getting good PotMS and good Storm Shields and Assault Vehicle.
