So as you may or may not know, Games Workshop has just released some new FAQ's, of which there's a thread in News and Rumours.
Here's a link to the page: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?categoryId=&pIndex=1&aId=3400019&multiPageMode=true&start=2

Some of the most notable changes are the bringing of Black Templars and Dark Angels up in line with the 5th Edition Space Marine Codex, meaning 3++ Storm Shields, proper Cyclones etc.

So what do you think the effects of these new FAQ's will be? Will there be more and more Dark Angels and Black Templars in the competitive circuit? Will MeQ be even more dominant? There are several effects these changes could have...
Discuss.

Personally, I think we'll see many more Black Templar and Dark Angels armies around, particularly Deathwing with their ability for squads of Cyclone/TH/SS Terminators.
I also expect to see an increased number of Voidravens hanging about, which should be a good thing. This may also have something to do with the rumoured Voidraven kit coming out...
However, with the improvement to ATSKNF I think Space Marines are going to become an even more dominant force.

Overall, I think there's been some largely very good changes.

"It is the great irony of the Legiones Astartes: engineered to kill to achieve a victory of peace that they can then be no part of."
- Roboute Guilliman

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

I have to admit I'm laughing hard about ruling on Marneus Calgar.

Somewhat frustrating to see all the points costs corrections applying to MEQ because dear god do they ever not need a reason to be more popular than other armies but as with all things in this hobby a misguided sense of optimism tells me 'just wait, it has to start with SPESS MUHREENS then everyone else will get fixed'. All in all I'm just astounded that GW has apparently discovered that there interwebs thing and realized they can actually put words on it. A lot of words that do stuff, to things! So maybe once they work all this ridiculous 'marines need fixed first' stuff out of their system they'll get to work on the other armies that have been screaming for this exact same thing for YEARS without the safety net of 'oh I'll just buy another codex and use that. I mean Tau can counts as Daemons, right?'

To be fair they have been doing this for a little while now with the WHFB FAQs. But, I'm pretty disappointed that it did not transfer over to 40k beyond the marines.

I think there might be a slight raise in DA again, simply out of curiosity thanks to the changes to the Deathwing. Though this will probably not last all too long unless it proves to be the new magic fix the "meta" has "needed".

One combination I'm thinking of: SS/TH Terminators with FnP and +1 attack.

I think it's nice for old Dark Angels players, but won't bring new ones into the fold. How would they even know about the new stuff without specifically looking for it? I mean, I'm as happy about this new stuff as anyone else - it's good to see consistency across multiple books. Either way, about damn time.

This is late enough to the game that it seems like a great new present from GW. In reality, they should have gotten on this within a few months of codex: Space Marines. Overall, I'm happy to hear they've tied up some nasty loose ends.

The ones that say 1_1 or 1_2 are new ones - basically just Space Marine books.

Space Marine wargear needed standardized, updated and points dropped. Too many people were getting treated harshly with poorly priced models, ineffective rules or non-competitive options. Unless they picked up a codex of guys in power armor with bolter and chainsword but in a different pose.

Logic suggests that if I had acess to it then I would not have asked the question.

question still stands, Do DA have everything updated or just the wargear?

Currently it just seems to be the Wargear. The Masters of the Chapter and Company masters are still less WS than their vanilla counterparts, and Ravenwing still costs 30% more than their SM biker counterparts.

The Masters are still Fearless, and the Captains still have Rites of Battle.
