Hey guys !

I thought I'd use my first ever post on this forum to show you my homemade Ork Transport Case. I've just restarted playing 40k after a 6 years pause, and I thought one thing that was preventing me from painting my models (aside from being lazy) is that I had not a proper way to transport my models without chipping the paint. After looking a bit on the net for the best investment, I decided to build my own case. So I bought a nice plastic case and a foam mattress and got to work !

Here's the result ! Althought the plastic case I bought is doing the job, maybe I should've search a bit more for a better one...

Closed case :

Stuff needed to play, paint, tools, bitzbox, codex, etc. :

Top layer :

First row, with an unused section, and Bikers, Buggies and an old Trukk on the smaller section :

Second row, with Boyz, AOBR WB and Nobz, FW Nobz Bikers and Kopta's bases :

Third row, with FW Kommandos, Boyz, Kanz, Koptas and a Trukk :

Fourth row, with Boyz, 'Ard Boyz (currently being painted !) and a SM converted Biker :

Last row, with WB, BM, WB, Nobz, Zzap Gunz with Grots, Stormboyz, Trukk, Deff Dread and a Boomtank (Leman Russ) :

The layers, out of the case :

What do you think ? All in all, it cost me about 100$ (plastic case, mattress and special red glue). I still have place for a lot more boyz, and could even drop the "hobbying layer" to put more models in there, but I don't think I'll need to do that anytime soon.

Thanks for watching !

Nice! I'm nowhere near ambitious enough to do this for my own Orks, but I did make a pretty sweet Monolith case from my old laptop box and some scrap foam from a local upholsterer.

Nice case but I can't help but wish you'd spent all that time painting the army, I don't see one painted fig!

Good stuff. I use the same foam for my custom trays.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

Seriously it took some time to finish it but it was really fun, I'm almost sad it's already finished

Yeah I know I'm kinda lazy... I've got so much figs that it's pretty discouraging... But in fact there's 3 painted figs, a boy and 2 'Ard Boyz. I'll probably post some pics of the 'Ard Boyz on the showcase section. Stay tuned

Looks good! If it was mine, I'd want handles on it so I could carry it about, but other than that I can't fault it!

I have recently been diagnosed with swelling in the brain, so please excuse spelling mistakes and faulty sentences. I am losing my ability to type and talk effectively, but dammit, that is not going to stop me from trying.

There are handles, on the sides. They're not visible on the first photo but you can see them on the others. Of course it wouldn't be practical if it had no handles. It's easy to carry, however it's not like if it had wheels (like a suitcase)...
