I know this is in the wrong place, but I'm short on time to post this. Does aybdu kno how to make both a deathsteike and a manticore out of a chimera set and manticore/ deathstrike set?? I have 2 hellfury missles to substitute as manticoreshots, but their a little bit small to use.

Yes, comes with both kits. Going to get one soon myself for my imperial guard.

I guess the point is to build BOTH options with a single kit: AFAIK the Deathstrike rocket uses many parts of the Manticore rockets.

Right, I don't own the kit so I don't know how many parts the two options share but I've a feeling its only one or two, you could probably magnetize.

It's bloody hard to make them interchangeable. Basically, the Deathstrike missile itself uses half of each Manticore rocket as it's boosters, and the launch rail for the Deathstrike is the same as the racks which support the Manticore missiles. To make them interchangeable, you need to make the racks, V - shaped supports, Manticore Missile halves and the Deathstrike Missile all fit together, and with the very thin surfaces between them, it's very difficult. IMO, it's just easier to build a Manticore, then buy another Deathstrike frame of an independant reailer, then make the whole rig interchangeable by simply not glueing it in and slotting the one you want in place.

Or you can built the manticore and then: Cover the gaps in the Deathstrike with plasticard and green stuff. Add a magnet at the bottom and a corresponding one on the ramp thingy.

That would require a hell of a lot of GS and some precise plasticard measuring. Also, the effect wouldn't be that good, as you then have the Manticore racks still sticking out of there.

Just go with the Manticore loadout. Personally i dont think the Deathstrike is all that reliable.

Magnets. Lots and lots of magnets. It's not easy but it's all you can do.

Sorry brother SRM, but I think thats a terrible idea, have you built a manticore/deathstrike?

How do you magnetize the deathstrike rocket so it will come appart, and then remagnetize into 4 manticore rockets? It cannot be done.

Buy 2 kits. GW would never let anyone get away with this without ridiculous time spent converting.

I've seen it done, but it does take a stupid amount of magnets. You need to magnetize the missiles themselves in halves - it's really hard but doable.

Why not just scratch build the Deathstrike Missile or build it without the Manticore Missile halves? Seems a bit of card filling in the gaps of where the smaller missiles attaching to the larger part would work, then simply build a suitable mount for it. Or perhaps cut it so that it fits on one side of the Manticore Launch pad.

I was going for putting the dstrike on a seperate chikera chassie. I could not gluevthe centervpiece in on the manticore and thevdeathstrike would simple sit in the middle of the two weapon racks
