Gotta love GW.
Guess what, Deathwing just became viable again.
Or maybe not viable, but still fun to play for lulz.
Belial, LC's 130
Interrogator Chaplain, combi melta 130
(5) Deathwing terminators, sarge w/ chainfist, 4x THSS, CML, Apothecary, Deathwing Company Banner 295
(5) Deathwing terminators, sarge w/ chainfist, 4x THSS, CML 240
(5) Deathwing terminators, sarge w/ chainfist, 4x THSS, CML 240
(5) Deathwing terminators, sarge w/ chainfist, 4x THSS, CML 240
(5) Deathwing terminators, sarge w/ chainfist, 4x THSS, CML 240
(5) Deathwing terminators, 5x THSS, CML 235
= 1750
Thats 30 terminators running at you, 25 of them THSS. Theyre fearless by the way. And each squad of them can fire 2 kraks each turn with the new 5th ed CML (ooh, shiny).
Probably not the best build you can make by abusing the new DA and BT faq ( BT CML termispam w/ tank hunters is gonna be badass) but I'm tired, and I cant be arsed to write up a BT list now. Tomorrow then.
C&C welcome.

It seemed funny when I wrote it
Being able to have your terminators as troops removes the need to take some gakky scout squads or the like (which you have to do when playing shrike+THSS or something) so you can just splash out all you points on terminators.
The army is pretty much immune to long range shooting, well, not immune, but completely indifferent. You need 3 ap1/2 wounds to kill 1 terminator, and they WILL be spread out to minimise the effect of blasts. The army has a lack of AT, but its far better than what a THSS heavy list normally puts out.

Because my list had a libby, and Jabbdo didn't want to completely plagiarise my list. That is really the only reasonable explanation I can think of.

Plagarise the most obvious list in the universe
It does look nasty though, and as probably thousands of 40k players thought of this kind of list the moment the FAQ was discovered, it will probably feature in some tournaments soon

Because the lib is ld9 so his psy hood is pretty meh, and his powers are balls.
The chaplain probably isnt the best possible choice, I threw him in as I had some points left over and nothing really jumped out at me as an obvious choice. Possibly swap him for a ravenwing bike sqaud w/ 2x meltas to alphastrike some land raider, or deepstrike belial's squad in my opponents face if needed.

Still have terrible powers...
This update has made me begin thinking of re-doing my DW. Thanks or bringing my attention to it!

Fair enough, but the powers still suck, and if Belial dies I fall back to ld9. I'll have to manage without.

Doesn't work that way. Rites of Battle is used for Morale, Pinning or Leadership tests.
Using a Psychic Hood isn't a Morale or Pinning test nor is it a Leadership test (see p. 8 of rulebook which defines Leadership test).
Definitely not sold on any DA Librarian at this point.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby. |

The deathwing assault is just a lol move really, I might use it to stick one squad far forward if I feel like it and just deploy the rest.

Its a possibility, I could drop the ravenwing squad and pick up a BC w/ hood.

I would think that a chaplain would add more to this kind of army, rather than the Librarian. At least with Litanies of Hate you can squeeze out an extra attack and I do agree that the Librarian powers are pants!
