can someone give me a good explenation what a blog is and why you should make one and how i can make one for my Tau army i am about to built and i would like to post the progress..

A blog is a thread in which you post regular updates to a project. You should make one because people enjoy watching the process of painting a model or building an army. Some people also find it motivates them to work harder.

If you want to start a blog of a project, you should make sure you have a good camera. Just take pictures of your army as it progresses, and post them in your thread. People can then give you advice, comments and criticism on each stage of your project - rather than you getting to the end and finding out you've done something wrong, you can catch mistakes earlier.

Yeah, that's a pretty good description. I assume you're asking about the blog forum we have (as opposed to full-on blogs out on the internet, right)?

If so, then yes a 'blog' on dakka is just a thread posted in that forum where you catalog the modeling painting process of stuff you're working on.

Good pictures are obviously the key and you can upload those pics to the gallery and then link them into your blog thread or conversely you can just attach the pictures into your blog thread posts and they will automatically upload to your gallery.

It works either way!
