so i've decided to put together a test squad for the grot guard army i've wanted to build pretty much since i first saw images of a grot in a tank
i plan to use fantasy goblin bodys, http://www.thewarstore.com/product48062.html and these heads for standard troopers
right now, i would like some ideas for
a-weapons-most of what i've found so far seem like they'd be a touch oversized
b- backpacks and pouches-again, most of what i've found would dwarf the goblins body
c-any other interesting bits you think might work well including things to grot-up vehicles (if this goes beyond a squad, it would be vehicle heavy army to keep me from needing to convert 100s of goblins)

So they'll count-as IG, and will use a mixture of looted (including some IG) and grot-made equipment?

Yes, a counts-as lasgun will certainly be needed. Sizewise I'm tempted to suggest Dwarf rifles, but i don't know whether the dwarf hands are attached.

You could use ork sluggas with extended gun barrels perhaps? In particular, that might be an easy conversion of spear-carrying goblins, using part of the spear shaft as the extended gun barrel - so long as you don't mind the resulting 'clutching the gun barrel' pose. And some 'repaired' scavenged marine bolters, if they're not too big. I'd go for a variety of guns - so long as they're all about the same size and don't look like any other IG weapons, there shouldn't be any confusion.

I wouldn't bother with packs, just load the grots up with looted ammo pouches etc - a couple of those would cover a grot's back anyway.

Vehicles should be relatively easy, so long as you have lots of bits - just make sure to get the resulting vehicles' about the same size as the IG equivalent. Hmm, converting Kanz into counts-as Sentinels would be fun.

yea, count as ig
i don't really plan to go the looted vehicle route so much as, well, often repaired. my plan is not so much as grots gone wild looting as it is an actual grot army thats equipment has seen better days

i'm looking for a somewhat uniform weapon to count as a lasgun (http://www.thewarstore.com/product48222.html-i'd try these if i didn't think they'd be rather to large
