I remember seeing a FAQ answer that allowed vehicles that couldn't fully arrive from reserve because of their sixe and limited speed to move enough extra so that they where fully on the field. But now I can't seem to find it anywhere. Was it all a pleasant dream?

No such answer. Yes, this means baneblades are autodestroyed if they are in reserve.

Hm. Damn. Must have been a house rule we used for so long that I thought it was actual rules... Thanks anyway mate.

So, how do you get a Baneblade on when using the Spearhead formation?

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!

The super heavy spearhead formation? Could that be how it works?

I've never really held a Baneblade, but is it too large even across - i.e. if you use the free pivot?

I really need to stay away from the 40K forums.

A free pivot would not help (even it a Baneblade *isn't* more than 6" across width-wise) as you would still need to move on the table far enough to pivot on the center point of the vehicle.

But who cares? Obviously regardless of what the FAQ ruling says if you're playing a game of Apocalypse that uses super-heavy vehicles you can make up a house rule that works for you guys...it won't be the last one you'll have to make when playing Apocalypse, so just accept it, make something up and move on.

Apocalypse is essentially about making up stuff and just goind with it, I was just really sure I had seen a FAQ answer this somewhere, thatEs why I asked. But there's no need to argue this in any way. Apocalypse creates a ton of speial situations, so you're bound to make up rules anyway.

Cheers you guys

+1

I agree with this, and there was a topic, before the new FAQ came out about this.

Interesting read, though a bit long.

A baneblade is longer than 6" in every way, unless you bring it in on its side.

If you don't include the sponsons on the baneblade (Which if I remember the sponsons are not part of the hull, and only the hull of the vehicle has to be in or am I wrong) is only 5 and a half inches wide. So if you moved six inches onto the table and made a pivot you would be able to bring one on from reserves. But remember this is apocalypse I'm talking about, and apocalypse has strategic reserve which is different than reserves.

I believe sponsoons are part of hull. its the actual guns mounted on the sponsoon that don't count as hull.

I always thought Apoc was about massive armies, with OTT units duking it out, and an epic background combined with an awesome time. Oh, and the Hand-Shake ending, with the loser buying the winner a beverage, and the both going home happy...

Mattieu~~~~ It's not that eldar are bad, it's that they require a lot of intergration between units. Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.

Nah you got it all wrong. Its all about random rules being invalidated and seeing your massive 10k army being wiped out in a single shooting phase. I highly recommend it though
