Hi all
This is my first post here, so please be gentle!!
I am thinking of starting a small Khorne Chaos Marine army, but as this is my first venture in the world of 40k (i was a Blood Bowl player) I am a bit lost when it comes to armour, weaponry etc.
Basically, I was wondering if there were any hints to getting a suitable colour for Khorne armour? I like to think of myself as a pretty confident painter (may post some pics of my BB stuff so you guys can be the judge of that!!).
I think I will start with a squad of Terminators using Forgeworld torsos, shoulder pads etc and led by the Lord Zhufor miniature also from Forgeworld. Then maybe a Rhino.
Anyone want to part with the Chaos Marine Codex?!
Thanks
James

Sounds like an awesome project!

Mecharite red is always a good base colour if you want to go the traditional 'lots of red' rout with them. I use it on my High Elves and it gives a really nice, rich colour with a brown wash for shading.

I have recently been diagnosed with swelling in the brain, so please excuse spelling mistakes and faulty sentences. I am losing my ability to type and talk effectively, but dammit, that is not going to stop me from trying.

What I did with my berzerkers was to apply watered down shining gold to create a dirty brass look.

If you prime brown and drop a layer or Mechrite Red over the top of it, you have a nice base for any of the reds you might want to use.

Thanks for the fast responses guys.
Some interesting methods mentioned. I like the idea of the 'Dirty Brass' look Mordoskul, I think thats something I may try on a test model.
Just need to sell my Blood Bowl stuff now so I can afford to fund this project.
Cheers
