Subject: Thinning The New GW Paints! Help Needed!

Ok so anybody who has recently bought, as in the circle tub not the hexagonal, GW paint should have noticed they seem more "watery" (or is that just me?? I dunno).
Iv been told to "thin my paints more" as it still looks a bit iffy, however how can i do that when even the smallest drop, from barely putting the tip of a standard brush into water, makes it result in what is basically a wash?? and if i add more paint the "thinning" is reversed.
So i need a bit of help people :S
PS: I know it may "be a bad pot of paint" however the watery consistency has been from every pot iv bought since the new pots were released as i still have some of the hexagonal pots which take a while for my paint aggitators(ceramic beads) to move.

Possibly try adding a small amount of water to the pot itself. start with a drop or 2 and go up slowly until its how you like it, or another option is to use a pallet and add water to the paint and mix on the pallet

Stupid question but have you tried shaking the paints up, when mine have started going watery its because they have started to seperate and a quick vigarous shake helped to sort it out.

I always shake paints before using them, even added in ceramic beads to assist with that.

If you are looking to thicken your paints, use matte medium, but be aware that it will lessen the amount of pigment per drop as you are basically adding paint with no color. This might help.
Personally I return any paints that are too watery brand new as defective.

Definitely what he said... I'd say you should also try using a pallette. That way you don't fuss with whats in the paint-pot too much (it also doesn't stay open too long), and you get a much better visual perspective of what you are working with. Just pull some paint onto your pallette and from there do what you have to do to get your desired consistency.
