What is a good anti-horde loadout for a Venerable dreadnought?

assault cannon, PF
or Rifleman. 2x autocannon
Though both loadouts can pick off light armour as well

If you're planning on drop-podding, a really crazy route to go is t/l h.flamer and replacing the SB with flamer. you'll probably only get one turn of firing, so the longer range dreads i described may be more versatile

Flamer will probably only net you one shot before you're tied up in assault, but it can net you way more casualties than a storm bolter

I prefer the Plasma cannon. Venerable Dreadnoughts have Bs5, making the Plasma cannon very accurate. Vehicle status means that the Gets Hot! rule is suspended too.

THe plasma cannon replaces the right arm, not the storm bolter.

there's really no comparison between the two. A Storm Bolter is suppose to be an infantry weapon, while the Plasma cannon is a heavy weapon. Sheer damage output of the PC eclipses that of the Storm Bolter.

My friend megamarines runs an assault cannon pfist one, god i hate those.

An assault cannon hitting on twos is pretty neat (but expensive) Ven.Dreads are only worth it for DAs really
