Whoops I forgot to add in the
ML to the
tac's my bad. I take the flamers because they are free(I do need some sort of horde control with this list its an all-comers) and the combi-melta(chances are you'll only be in the effective range of a meltagun once before said target is dead and everything else moves away or assaults you) and
PF lets them deal with tanks/characters/
MC/termies, and I'm the most mech'd up person in my local group, a lot of people here still walk around on foot or use
JP so flamers are awesome and really underestimated I have found. Most people don't care about a 5 pt leeway and if so I can drop the HKM or DB/
SB on the pred. I have tried the dread in a
DP my last to games and I'm really on the fence about that, first game he got popped right away, second game he dropped in and wrecked shop the whole game smacking a vindi a rhino some honour gaurd and melted a bunch of marines. On the one hand he is short ranged and needs the pod to get in close and kill stuff but on the other hand he has a tendency to become unsupported as he has to drop in on the first turn and the only viable targets are far away, I still have points to squeeze it in again if I lose a couple point sink upgrades(
ST, EA, HKM, DB). I tried to support the dread with speeders but its hit or miss if they arrive immediately after and then they can't shoot if they
DS(I guess a
FAQ said to refer to the
BRB about the discrepency). How would you guys support the dread?

PF on tacs is a bit OP if in rhinos - the idea is not for them to get into a situation where they need to use it. Better off giving them a missile launcher instead. Combi meltas will do the job of the PF in most instances. Or stick a melta bomb in.
Meltabombs are not
TL IIRC and usually need 4+ or 6+ to hit. Sometimes you don't have a choice about avoiding an assault situation (and for some reason my
tac squads tend be a little punch happy) so why not be prepared, you can't stick a
MB on a
MC so why not shoot it, melt it, burn it, then squish it
