This thread could fit into the Painting & Modeling forum, but it also addresses how the army list is going to turn out. So, I would like input on figuring out *what* to best convert a box of K. Warriors in regards to making Trueborn. Models I have:

Baron Sathonyx - goes with BeastMaster unit

5 Trueborn - 4 w/ blasters and a dracon w/blast pistol & Agonizer <-- any input on what you do to make the splinter rifle look like a blaster? I'm considering some Eldar bits added on to the barrels. So far mixed results.
Both units of TB have Venoms (each w/ extra Splinter Cannon), probably FlickerFields, too.

x2 Ten Wyches - razorflail, hydragauntlets, hekatrix w/ Agonzier & blast pistol
x2 Raider

BeastMaster - x4
Razorwing Flock x6
Khymera x5

Regarding the Trueborn - should I include the dracon at all? ATM, the list is weighing in at 1200 or so points.

Personally I'd drop all the wych weapons except for the net/trident thing and personally I don't even use that. The other ones just don't add enough. I'd also drop the Dracons as the unit is already paper. Giving it a little hitting power isn't cost effective. If ever there was a fire and forget unit it's trueborn.

I'm also not a fan of Sathonyx w/beasts as it's complicated manuevering to get right but I guess a 3+ coversave is helpful. The rest looks solid really. The suggestions I added should drop you to 1k-1.1k-ish which could help you get more stuff (depending on the point value) or make it easier to cut just the tiniest extra bit for 1k.

Personally I'm a huge fan of 2xUnits of 3 BM's w/4 Flocks and 5 Kymera. 156pts for a tiny load of whoopa....you get it

I bought the box of helions for BeastMasters and decided he was a reasonable HQ already-purchased ... and didn't Dash embrace this? Anyway, his leadership does help once the BMs are gone and the RazorFlocks are all that's left. Anyway, there'll be Haemonculuses in the future if I can find a reasonable 'wrack' substitute/proxy. The conversions look more complex than my humble hobby abilities.

It will eventually be a 2k tourney list, but for later this Spring as my purchases are tapering off for a bit over the next couple weeks.

Gonna hafta proxy SM land speeders for venoms until I can buy another raider & 2 vypers to do that vyperx2-hybrid conversion.
