So I was thinking, maybe the Templarwing isn't the best build int he new book, maybe going all-out shooty is.

Those dreads have twin linked str 10! And against tanks, the heavy flamer is str 6, auto hit. Not bad. The vindies and Typhoons give you crowd control and anti-tank, and the lazorbacks are fire support and mobile scoring units. No worries about psychic powers and "kill them all checks."

Insane anti-mech potential. This will shoot most mech lists to pieces. Hordes would be problematic, though.

Anyone else have any ideas for some hard-core shooty Templars? I think this may be the more powerful build strategy, but only platesting will tell.

17 small blasts, 12 lascannons, 3 autocannons. 3 preds that can split their fire or fire 2 weapons at 6" or 1 at 12".

I made the same mistake Reecius - stupid Army builder lets me put in 3 Ven Dreads, and in my excitement I didn't think about the fact that that couldn't possibly be right.

I like CaptKaruthors list, but I think all of these lists are suffering from lack of scoring units. Maybe they only need one more, but what to drop for it is hard to figure out.

I like your list! I don't think you need the l.cannons on the lazorback squads though, as they won't be able to shoot it.

And PotMS on the preds seems like a lot of points for BS2, I think I would go without and take another Typhoon, personally.

@ Reecius: PotMS is now the same as every other SM chapter: it's worth taking. GW updated it in the FAQs
