I'm painting my Ultramarine terminators. I've noticed in some photos of the GW termies that the faces are white, but they seem to have a slight blue tint around the edges. Is this accurate or is it just my bad eyes? Anyone know how this might have been accomplished? I'd like to somehow get definition to their faces instead of just slapping white on them.

Thanks in advance,
Oriphus

They used Shadow Gray as the basecoat for the white, which is what that blue tint is.

I use a wash with a bit of blue & black and a few drops of white paint. Looks a bit like milk with a blue grey tinge. It takes a few applications, but that gives me more control over the areas where I may want more or less of the shading effect.

Also white tends to pick up tints from colours around it which doesn't help.
