my present gaming project is to get a titan or a decent stand in.
i have a template to make a warhound titan but i seem to lack the skills and materials to make it happen.
buying one from FW is out of the question. (i dont have $500 kicking around)
so my idea now is to find a model or other stand in to take its place.

my question is can someone show me an acceptable stand in or give some building materials advice.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

and the quest for a titan rolls on.

thanks in advance.

Make one, its easy once you get started, and follow the info. but first, I cannot stress the importance of this MAKE A PAPER ONE FIRST, stops you needlessly wasting plasticard, and gives you the knowledge to make your real one.
Make it out of 1mm plasticard, but dont glue on the arms or head, magnatize those (swap different loadouts around) Trianglular supports make from 2mm plasticard works well on the inside for strength and stability. You dont really
need a base, unless you doesnt stand up, at which point it is much easier just to weight the feet. If you are a student and there is a tech department at your school/college/uni, they may have a laser cutter, which is very accurate
but not neccersary, but if you want to make several, you can have all the templates cut in seconds.

Amything else, pm me

My favorite brand of plastic is EverGreen. You can use some of their shaped pieces to give your model a bit of a personal touch, and to provide ready-made supports instead of cutting your own. H columns and I beams can make for some cool basing, and the channel pieces can help you keep magnetized pieces in place when you attach them. Hobby Town USA carries this brand. Not sure if there is one near you, but you should be able to use EverGreen's website to find the locations of retailers.

I assume that you have a square, a straight edge, and a clamp. If not, get them. They are dead useful when you need to make nice straight lines and accurate geometric shapes. You can almost just use a small drafting set to plot out your lines, and then cut at the appropriate points. Of course, if you do have access to a laser cutter, just go with that.

Hope that helps.
