Well here's the story.
I have a metal model that I painted, but I remembered I wanted him to be a different colour altogether.
I don't want to put on another coat of paint since the details will get covered over.

Does anyone know a good paint remover that won't be corrosve to the model?

And what if I wanted to un-paint a plastic model too.

Acetone.
Brake fluid.
Degreaser.

None of these are corrosive to the white metal alloy but will get paint off.

Acetone WILL destroy plastic though, so make sure any plastic bits you want to keep are removed first.

Simple Green or Super Clean. Both can be found at your Wal-mart or super market... Or whatever you people go to in Ireland... (Pub, perhaps?)

Simple green has issues with enamel paints and primers.

Just a note. Acrylics it strips fine though. So if GW spraypaints were used on them, they will strip fine (as GW do not have ANY primers in their paint line. Primers are a very different formulation).

I haven't had any issues with simple green having difficulty stripping off primer as of yet, but then again I tend to forget about the jar for months at a time...

If you have a spare stove pot you dont mind scrubbing paint and super glue residue out of and no plastic on the figure, after soaking it in paint remover for at least 24 hours boil some water, NO SALT OR EXTRA REMOVER and have your tongs and a toothbrush ready. Drop the entire figure in it so remove the plastic base if its on one. Then every five minutes brush it and the paint falls right off. This also weakens the super glue bond so you can get all that gunk out of its crevices. Works great on oop dreads
